Serious Question..Its a lot of money to spend on something that doesnt get you that great of a return these days, especially a small market team like Bobcats. The team will never win anything. Why does he want the stress, just look at Mark Cuban haha. I know MJ is rich as hell already but owning a team doesnt seem like something suited for him.

That's exactly why he wants to do it. The guy loves challenges, winning, and proving people wrong. It's what made him arguably the greatest basketball player ever, but also why he is a bad gambler and businessman. His competitive drive is the greatest the world has ever seen.

because liquid assets, in this case cash money, is the worst asset to have.

it's value fluctuates too much on inflation/deflation, world economy, economic policies, etc

it's better to invest and own real assets, real assets are things like real estate, etc...things that can be used as collateral, etc. an NBA team will always be a good investment.

even if times are tough right now, the league isn't going anywhere.

it's a great investment.

Wilmington, NC is nowhere near Charlotte and he still lives in Chicago.

I think he just wanted to own a NBA team. I'd do the same if I had the money.
