The finals are on NBA TV which I think is having a free trial right now. This game has Scola playing, Tiago Splitter a likley lottery pick and NBA level talent like Sarunas Jasikevicius and Arvydas Macijauskas both of whom the Spurs have shown past interest in, Anthony Parker a quality SG that should be in the NBA, Monya, a last years Pothead pick that tlong is hot for, and David Andersen, an Atlanta pick that undoubtedly will suit up for the Hawks next year and will quite possibly be a Got Milk player. Should be interesting

Ill tell you what I like about Scola.

The guy is a hardnosed SOB. The guy takes it RIGHT at the hole, and has a great touch around the basket.

The guy also has energy exemplified.

This guy is Malik Rose, with the height, better jumper, but worse hair.

"Tau can`t do shit in first half"

Not really, shooting 45%, but Maccabi is shooting much hotter, esp 7/9 3's. I expect Maccabi will cool off a bit in the 2nd half and the game will be closer at the end.

What is scola's line now??

When I left the house I think he had like 12- 14 points.

Scola is a real hustler on the boards, and runs the floor extremely well, keeping himself right in the thick of the paint action on both ends.

In 3rd qtr, he passed well out of a triple team for an AST. excellent!

Scola is to slow when he returns to D. In O is just dominant.

Scola is to slow when he returns to D

Ya know, that coach he is gonna move up to in the NBA isn't bad of a defensive coach.

Me thinks, once he improves in that, hes gonna be a fantastic player.

BTW, how old is Luis?? 24???

Tau couldn't maintain their 3rd effort through to the end, and Maccabi wasn't going to lie down. Great game, won by the better team.

Its strange that Israeli teams not compete in "Middle East leagues" where they belongs???Many of those countries don't acknowledge Israel's right to exist, much less play basketball.

Turkey plays in Euroleague too, I know they're borderline....

Somehow I doubt Macabi would be too enthused about going to play a game in Syria, Iraq or Iran.

One thing that could help Scola stick in the NBA is how quickly he goes into his post moves -- I can see his getting more than a few points off of defenses that aren't fully set.

Some of his help defense left him way, way out of position but it seemed like others should have been rotating to make up for it. You can't say he's lazy on D, and if GRob can stay on the floor with the effort hes given, that bodes well for Scola - especially since we can always have a shotblocker out there with him.

Let me guess, cmurek, you're a Muslim?

A top Russian team from eastern Russia (aka Asia) or eastern Turkey: allowed to play as Euro, or excluded as Asian?

Union Olimpija (Slovenian basketball club) would also like to play in American basketball leagues, but they cant! Why? Because they are not from that continet!

Or change the "Name" of trophy into something else! :rolleyes :rolleyes

Turkey is a lit a bit a different story! A small part, or better a part of the capital city Istanbul standing on the territory of Europe! At least something!

You need to update your 1922 atlas.

Geography Turkey Top of Page
Location:
southeastern Europe and southwestern Asia (that portion of Turkey west of the Bosporus is geographically part of Europe), bordering the Black Sea, between Bulgaria and Georgia, and bordering the Aegean Sea and the Mediterranean Sea, between Greece and Syria.

Is Macabi not being eligible to play in the Euroleague a popular sentiment among Euroleague fans?

Technically ispeaking it's the Natinonal Basketball Association and most Canadians would not be amused to hear that they are part of the nation of the United States of America.

I have nothing against that Maccabi can play in Euroleague. This team is very good and makes Euroleague only better.
