What else will Stern an co. do to ensure Kobe gets his rest?
Where's Vince McMahon with the 'special guest referee'?
:lmao
If LA loses, the advertisers get pissed

Plain and simple.
Too many games in a night means less revenue. Space them out and show as many as possible means more revenue.
It's all about the benjamins.

The league office was notified that Kobe was hurting so they needed the Lakers to be as well rested as possible.
Sadly, no one is gonna tune in to a OKC/UTA Round 2.

They earnt it by getting the 1 seed?
Stern felt bad for calling out Phil Jackson on his whining about refs.

The only true constant in the NBA Universe is that the Los Angeles Lakers will get the benefit as Stern's favorite NBA Final Choice:
"The Lo$ Angele$ Laker$ versus Lo$ Angele$ Laker$"
Did you think he was just trying to be clever? Where Amazing happens

It's a ratings thing. Since they get promoted the most and they're the best big city team, they get preferential treatment. That's another reason why I preferred the LAL in round 1.
They'll probably beat OKC, but I felt, about a month and a half ago, that the Spurs could beat them.

that is also what I was saying---that the best chance the spurs had to get to the 2nd round---was to play the lakers...
imagine TD & Manu getting 3 days rest and then playing the lakers with the appropriate fear' thing...that would be a nice series...
gotta beat dallas and hope the lakers get pushed/tested somewhere down the road..
It was part of the Gasol trade.

OKC vs UTAH would be a good matchup.

they'll have to catch up eventually, hopefully OKC and utah both push them to 7, then if we beat Phoenix, we get a 2 week rest

Kobe and the lakers brass are all masters at deep throating the biggest veiniest cock in existence.
Thats why any team that ever beats the Lakers in a series deserves prahps.
Cleveland is reaching that level too.

You've got it backwards. Lakers are the top, Stern is the bottom.

Well, Utah and LA closed out their series Friday night and play Game 1 Sunday. SA and Phx closed out on Thursday and don't play until Monday.
All about TV.

LA only gets 1 day off, saturday, and starts against Utah on sun, where we got 3 days. So everybody should agree it is about money and not favoring the big market.
although that sac v. la series back in the day was pretty fishy...

Everything ever involving LA is fucking fishy.
I hope Kobe breaks his knee

Because ... 9/11 was an inside job; because vaccinations cause autism; because if you look closely at the back of theone dollar bill, you'll see that the gubernment is really controlled by the illuminati; and because the NBA is fixed.
