From what I've heard of Big L, he's way overrated. Basically if an artist of any type dies, their made out to be much better than they really were.

You think that evan about Pac?

Pretty much. If 2Pac were alive today, he'd have a show on the WB and your little sister would have his album.

snoop is the king IMO.

Him and Dre together threw down some mean shit in the 90s.

Oh god, Snoop is no where near the king as far as rapping goes.

And yeah, there are definetly more people that listen to rap (at least the good shit) than you think.

2Pac is in no way overrated. Pac was a moron definitely, but every album he ever made sounded completely different from anything he had done before. Only Outkast is better at reinventing themselves than 2Pac was.

Snoop is to me the most disappointing rapper in the history of hip hop. When I heard him on 187 back in like '91 I thought he was the next Rakim. Snoop made The Chronic... Dre's beats were nice, but his flow sucked, yet Snoop's was so tight that album it made it a top-5 alltime hip-hop record.

Doggystyle was an incredible album, but some of the stuff I heard on 97.9 The Box that they got a hold of back in '92 or so that never made the album was even better than what was on it. As soon as Dre left and Suge started forcing him to crank crap out his career ended in my eyes. No Limit was even worse. Now the guy doesn't even rap... it's this radio-friendly singing crap now. What a waste. Now he's too old to ever drop anything hardcore again. :(

Even I like some of Tupac's stuff.

tupac was ok.. he was a great actor
i just dont like him because his beats are average, his lyrics are average and his voice is bad
but even if i liked him he'd still be overrated

biggie smalls- ready to die
cypress hill- temples of boom
wu tang clan- 36 chambers enter the wu tang

all individually were better than every 2pac album combined
alot more but those are the 3 greatest rap albums of all time

the only rap i like is the old school stuff that actually had a message, not just the bling bling stuff you mainly hear now. eazy-e, nwa, public enemy, run dmc, that stuff was what i grew up with, and i still love it today
