Najera's nothing more than a cheap shot ass so no surprise, and Barea is steamed about losing his minutes in a big game to Roddy.

Dirk hugged Timmy . . .

What? I saw Dirk give a hug to Duncan, Blair, Pop, possibly more. I also saw Kidd congratulating the spur players. I didn't notice JJ or Najera shaking hands but props to Najera for playing like a man with too much pride but paying his respects when the series was over.

Eric stop acting so damn pompous

Dirk and Duncan exchanged mini hugs and shook hands immediately after

I have a hard time disliking Najera. He has heart and plays 100%. He's the only one on that team who actually plays with pride. And I'm not talking about the false bravado that guys like Heywood and Butler show.

Barea is just tired from playing this series, wrestling in the WWE and having to coach the Thunder against the Lakers.

Doesn't his family live in San Antonio or something like that??? I heard that from the announcers.

I have no idea why people have to make up crap about Dirk. He is quite possibly the nicest guy in the NBA, and he expresses his respect for the Spurs all the time.

Bonner had dinner with Barea (http://www.dallasbasketball.com/fullColumn.php?id=2982) a couple days ago so it ain't no big deal, heat of the moment that's understandable.

Nowitzki was the last player to leave the Mavericks' locker room. Wearing black slacks and a dark blue dress shirt, he quietly walked toward the AT&T Center media room, head down at times, staring absentmindely toward the floor.

Just outside the interview room was Tim Duncan, with his wife and two young children. Dirk perked up for a moment, shook hands with Duncan and said, "Hey, buddy, go get 'em."

Dirk, who put on an amazing display offensively the whole series, was very gracious in the loss and had a conversation with Duncan - and I hope Tim said - "hey come play with us next year"!

If only Holt had an extra 15m-20m laying around to spare

Dirk has huge respect for Duncan and I think vice versa.

However, I can't see Dirk coming to the Spurs if he opts out. You don't have the cap space, do you? At least you would need Jefferson to opt out and I can't see that happen.

About any new contracts in the furture: Dirk doesn't care about money, he would play for less, I'm sure.

I'm having a hard time discerning what I'm seeing here . . .

Am I bearing witness to an unfortunate fishing accident, one that may or may not have severely injured the big German; or am I seeing an unprecedented attempt at breeding the first Great White German?

Nothing can cheer me up right now. Even though my expectations were tempered, it is still disappointing to see things end up like this.

At least Eric B is providing the takes that help me solider on.
