Dice - His defense on Dirk was once again superb, esp how he played in the 4th quarter with 5 fouls. Dirk was hitting big shots in the Mavs' last run there, and he shut him down and forced other Mavs to shoot.

Hill - His defense on Kidd was HUGE. He kept Kidd from ever really getting into the game. If we face the Suns in the next round, I expect him to do the same against Nash, unless he guards Richardson since Parker does a good job on Nash too. But even more amazing for a young kid in the playoffs - he played in the 4th and hit BIG, BIG SHOTs.

Manu - His steal at the end of the fourth was big. His clutch FTs were big. And his energy and hustle is what we needed and expected this game.

Tim - Not a huge game offensively but solid defensively (kept Haywood from getting in the game) and made some good passes and rebounding was big.

The two blocks and 1 steal Tim had to close out the 3rd quarter. Huge defensive

Carlisle benching their spark for the 4th quarter.

kind of reminded me of Pop benching Hill in last season's playoff matchup.

Well, obviously Hill but watch why he was alone all night and the exact play that ended with his corner three, this is how Mavs defended Manu in the pick n roll :

that's been like that for most of his scoring, where he benefited from the attention the big three asks, especially manu and TP when they drive.

but hey wasn't it exactly what the spurs wanted, a 4th scorer to complete the big three ? add his good D, his poise and the fact that he can also create his own shot if necessary, and Hill is as good as we could ask him.
