Mav fans have seen this too many times. Another first round exit leaves us again with the question of, "where do we go from here?". The Butler/Haywood trade did a lot for us but a hungry Spurs team proved even the best of deals are not enough when you have an inferior coach and a team that lacks a a true game changer. Let me start this off by giving props once again to Dirk Nowitzki for sticking up with a disapointing season while he played flawless for nearly 90 games. Dirk's decision to stay or go will have a huge impact on our decision making this off season. If he leaves, then expect Dallas to move alot of contracts and press hard for Lebron James. I cant see Dirk walking from 21 million, because Im not sure another contender will offer that kind of money. Cuban has a lot of options at this point. He mentioned blowing up the team at the deadline, but instead pulled a great deal with Washington. No reason to blow it up with the talent we have, but no doubt changes are needed. Terry is loved by Cuban, but I dont see anyone really protected other than Kidd and Dirk. Look for Dirk to extend his contract and retire in a mavs uniform. Beaubois is showing promise and will continue to blossom into a future all star next season. No way we let him go (even for Bosh) unless it is for a top 7 or 8 guy in the league.
Guys to look for:
Joe Johnson
Ray Allen
Marcus Camby
Al Harrington
David Lee
Mike Miller
Carlos Boozer
Steve Blake
Kyle Korver
Luis Scola
Rudy Gay
Raja Bell
Carl Landry
Stay Away From:
Tracy McGrady
Kenyon Martin
Jermaine O'Neal
Derek Fisher
Mike James
Shaquille O'Neal
JJ Redick
Jordan Farmar
