View Full Version : NBA 2nd Round Playoff Predictions

Lakers vs. Jazz - The Jazz are the favorites in this series as they will overpower the Lakers. The Lakers were a Pau Gasol lucky layup away from going to a Game 7 with the Thunder. They're just not that good anymore. It's not too long before this team goes home. Kobe has lost a couple of steps and he's just a non-factor this year in the playoffs. Pau Gasol and Bynum are good only when they make shots. But what if they don't make their shots? Then what? The Lakers pretty much think that they don't have to go out and play anymore and think that every game will just be handed to them. This will catch up with them. They had a hard time with the Thunder but were able to pull off the upset in the first round as the underdogs. The Lakers only won 4 more games than Utah did. So let's say any 4 shots during the regular season don't go in for the Lakers, and the Jazz would have a better record. Jazz in 5.

Spurs vs. Suns - The Spurs could very well sweep this series. The Big Four of TD, Manu, Tony, and Hill and McDyess, Blair, and Jefferson off the bench will be too much for Nash, Amare, and Richardson's jump shots. Nothing personal against Phoenix, but do they really want to get sent home yet again by the Spurs? Especially Amare being sent home by us in 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2008. The Spurs will sweep this series or win in 5. This will not be a competitive series, as none of the Spurs-Suns series have been competitive other than the 2003 series.

Celtics vs. Cavs - The Celtics are heavily favored to win this series. LeBron won a regular season award, but he can't get it done when it matters in the playoffs. LeBron will prove in yet another postseason that he is an overrated overhyped fluke. All he does is make shots. But what else? Then what? What happens if your shots don't go in? This is a guy the Spurs swept just three years ago. He's not that good. Celtics in 6.

Magic vs. Bucks - Meaningless series. Don't care.

Someone is a little overconfident in their team. Be careful with that.

Lakers will take a huge shit on the Jazz, 5 games to close it t. Jazz are weak, always have been always will be. Nothing but playoff fodder.

nope, And i think when their series is done they'll probably wrap up their luggages and also go fishing to join the Rockets, who've been fishing there since before the 1st round were firstly played.

Nope. They really let a great opportunity go by not closing it out at home.

And now the fearing of the deer has disappeared. Although I woulnd't put it pass ATL to lose a Game 7 at home. They're definitely more than capable of such suckage.

it seems like every time the Lakers play the Jazz, Okur is out. He didn't play in '08 and I don't recall him playing against them in another series as well.

My mamba is small, Wangi. It's more like a garner snake. When yer old the mamba starts to shrink and your teabag shrivels. My only pleasure now is totin up my NBA Championships (15) and lookin' up girl's dresses at the library.

As long as the Spurs, Celtics, and Lakers get eliminated in the 2nd round, I will be happy. I would love to see the Suns sweep the Spurs. That would be awesome. The same can be said about the Jazz sweeping the Lakers. Stern would probably kill himself if it was the Jazz and Suns in the WCF.

Prediction 2) Cully gets his ass raped again and switches to yet another username.

Wishfull thinking. You MIGHT get your wish about the Celtics and Lakers, but thats about it. Spurs are still DEEP in the minds of the Suns, like pre-2006 vs the Mavs but MUCH deeper. I really think, no matter what the Suns do, that they can EVER get the Spurs out of their heads.

Suns will fold yet again against the mighty Dark Side of the force.

I love the Spurs being the villain in Phoenix.
