.. i have noticed in his comments after game 1 .. that his being cocky .. good thing nash though him a lesson .. hopefully hill improves in game two ..

this was a fail thread. he wasn't being cocky - he's a hell of a player and will deliver for the spurs this series but nash trully ate him up last night. he needs to find his place for this series. If the spurs move on, he can be very valuable going forward.

Actually, I think he lacks confidence. That's why Popovich is always complimenting him with the comments of "my favorite player."

In contrast, whenever Blair has a great game, Popovich always down plays it, and his comments are very understated. Blair, IMO, is the slightly "arrogant" one. Case in point, the rookie-sophmore AS game. He'd never acts that way when he plays for the Spurs.

I do think that the way he interacts with his players is one of Popovich's greatest strengths. Brent Barry has made several comments on Popovich knowing who and when he can push and who he has to "pamper."
