Ironic that the Lakers are dominating on defense and not on offense. Can anyone say Ron Artest?

Lakers defense in the playoffs:

#1 in FG% 39.9%
#2 in 3FG% 31.1%
#1 in FG% margin 6.2%
#1 in rebounding 45.1
#1 in blocks 7.3

Unprecedented numbers, better than Boston in 2008 and Detroit in 2004 across the board.

Two stats in particular are those who usually determine the champion: FG% defense and rebounding and Lakers are dominating both by a large margin.

Great numbers. Worth noting that OKC and Utah are two above-average offenses but not spectacular. Looks like they'll be getting a real test with Phoenix likely to meet them should they make the WCFs, too.

Defense does correlate to championships but not as strongly as scoring margin. Going by PO numbers, the Magic are favorites and it's not... even... close.

impressive, but its not a big enough sample to say they are amazing.
