he'd basically be guarding Grant Hill, who isn't that quick at this stage of his career. he'd space the floor, something RJ can't do. i don't know. what do you guys think?

Bonner can't play his way out of a wet paper bag at any position.

Bonner's been used to slow down Artest who was a problem for the rest of the Spurs SF's. But I think Hill is much more mobile than Ron but who knows what Pop will do after being down 3.

If the playoffs have shown us anything ... it's that Bonner can play 'small' as a forward.

The only title I need to see that references Matt Bonner is "former Spur"

If the Spurs had a center rotation developed/not traded away then I'd be very much in favor of playing Bonner and Blair as threes in a big lineup. There's not much harm in having a big small forward if there's adequate shot blocking to back them up. As it stands, there's just not sufficient depth to allow those guys to move away from the position they're playing.

The major problem with playing Bonner at the 3 is lateral quickness on defense. Offensively it wouldn't be a problem, and could theoretically be an asset. However, 90% of NBA small forwards can beat Bonner off the dribble, either giving up a lot of layups or forcing the bigs to over-rotate. Bottom line: not the worst idea in the world to try, but probably not the right personnel to do it.

Bonner can play all 5 positions.

No, seriously, he could play SF depending on the matchup. He wouldn't have trouble staying in front of most SFs, and he should have an advantage on the boards.

At this point, why not? Duncan, Dice and Bonner. Sweet!

Bonner can play all 5 positions.

No, seriously, he can't play SF. He can't play anything. He can't even play with himself. He has trouble staying in front of anyone that isn't 300lbs, and he should have an advantage on the boards, but never, ever grabs any. If they were sandwiches then maybe he might put a little heart into his game.

At this point, why!??! Duncan and Dice try. Bonner deserves to have his throat slit. Man, that would be SWEET!

Fixed :)

He's not quick enough. It would be an unmitigated disaster.

How about giving Blair a little run at SF.

No, although I've seen Malik Rose play SF a couple times back in 2001.

Could work if Bonner is making shots again and the spurs want to go ultra big in desperation mode.

He's still quicker than slow ass Matt Bonner.

Infact, I'm sure most players in the league are faster than Bonner.

I highly doubt he is quick enough, either. Plus, he can't shoot.
