The Spurs are expected to consider trading Tony Parker to either give its three-man core a fresh look or find a younger big man to pair with Tim Duncan, after signing Manu Ginobili to a three-year contract worth nearly $40 million last month and with Duncan and Spurs coach Gregg Popovich under contract through 2011-12.
Duncan wouldn't be drawn on specific areas that need improvement, saying only: "We'll start doing whatever we've got to do to prepare for next year."

Lakers need a PG. Spurs need a younger Big man. tony Parker and Eva Longoria finally residing in LA, Bynum learning from one of the best big man in the league. Bynum will get to fully explore his potential without having to play with a hog like Kobe, and Fisher will finally get his wish to come off the bench.

Seems like a perfect swap.

Yay or nay for Spurs or Laker fans?

I rather have a PG that can shoot, but with that said, him penetrating is gonna give Chris Bosh and Pau Gasol open dunks.

That's an intriguing vote.

With a 35 year old Fish and Ego Farmar as the future, Tony Parker would look great in a Lakers uniform.

I'd still stick with Bynum though. Bynum, Gasol and Odom are unmatchable in the NBA.

Why the heck the Spurs need a center when they already have Tim Duncan and are signing Splitter?

They should look hard for options for trading Tony Parker though, I've been saying this for awhile.

The Spurs are expected...

I hate journalists. "Expected" by whom? Source? Sheesh. Stop stating conjecture as if it were fact.

Spurs practice after the trade:

Manu and tim, after 3 hours of intense practice:

Tim:" so, if bynum going to join us or what? he's been on the bench eating cold cereal for 2 hours now...."

Manu:" He told me his tendons hurt.....I told him he could at least stand there and block some shots or what not, but he just told me "1 ring faggot"...."

Yeah, the Spurs want to play with no PG and a perpetually injured big man.

:rollin:rollin:rollin @ Spur fans who say no.

Like they wouldn't trade a undersized shoot first PG who ALSO is injury prone for a 7'1 22 year old true center..

You really want to give the Lakers a point guard...?

You were one of those votes, huh gimp?

Nope, cocksucker, I was of the, "we don't need no stinkin' Spurs on our team" votes. ;)

Being able to have a Bynum-Gasol Bynum-Odom or Gasol-Odom front court at all times is why no one in the West can stop LA. They're not gonna give that advantage up.

No. Bynum is good, but no.

I like Bynum, but I hate the thought of George Hill running the offense. The Spurs would have to get a pretty good point guard with Jefferson's expiring to even think about that.

It is hilarious to call TP injury prone in an argument about Bynum by the way. TP is a better player than Bynum as well. He just had an off year.
