I thought I was ready for Tim's and the Spurs end of their run at the top, but the Dallas series got my hopes up. Was believin' again.
Now, more often than not, the Spurs break my heart.
I expect nothing from the draft, and I expect Pop, who spoiled himself with so many good years, will get tired of mediocrity and retire.
Tim ain't gonna go Kareem for us 'til he's 40+. That leg is gonna shut him down.

I still have something important to clinch tomorrow so I'm trying not to think too much about the loss. But after that, I'm going to wallow and write a long blog about the series/season just for catharsis.
Sad how we go from so much potential from training camp (I've been watching those vids lately) to being swept by the Suns.
Oh well, I'm also looking forward to Roland Garros and Wimbledon. :lol

I kind of accepted the fact that our season would end after game 3 and I was pretty upset afterward. Last night's loss wasn't as bad as I thought it would be... last night.
Now, the reality is hitting me that the Spurs are out. Feels like the rug has been pulled from under me.

true.. i am a bit over it already, too.
this was an easy loss to swallow, considering we weren't going to get past the Lakers.
i'd rather lose to the Suns than the Lakers.
I can't settle down until I know whether or not McDyess will retire. Had the Spurs gone deeper into the playoffs I would think his returning next season would be a garuntee. But because of this showing against the Suns, I can see him deciding he's never going to get a ring and move on. He's not playing for the money anymore. And when he's done, my interest in the NBA is going to significantly decrease.
To think that this game 4 might have been his last makes me feeel a little sick.
If, he decides to stay then I'm really looking forward to next season and hoping there are measures taken to strengthen the team. I feel like McDyess will have a better regular season showing now that he's getting more comfortable with the system. I'd be happy with him starting but hope the team has improved it's roster enough that he can be the first big off the bench.

I remember just sitting there for like 10 minutes after the game just staring at the television in utter disbelief. That series was alot more competitive. This was domination.

1. Can't comprehend that we lost two straight must-win games at home
2. Can't comprehend that we didn't punish the Suns' thin frontline
3. Can't comprehend that we got outphysicalled by the Phoenix Suns
3. Can't comprehend that Popovich couldn't figure out a way to cover the three-point line.
4. Can't comprehend that Popovich couldn't figure out a way to slow down a simple pick and roll.
5. Can't comprehend that we made the Suns look like the greatest team ever assembled.
6. I blame Popovich, who has won four rings for one reason: Tim Duncan
7. The Spurs are a better team with more talent than the Suns. That means that if Phoenix wins, maybe they do so 4-3 because they have home court. But not 4-0. The Suns swept us, and that's due to horrible coaching. No other way to slice it.
7. Now I'm 1000% about pulling for the Lakers to lose. I live in LA, and cannot stand the thought of those homos winning another title.
8. I'd rather LeBron win it this year, because it will help squlech all the K. Bryant talk. Then again, anybody but the Lakers is fine with me.
9. Tim Duncan has four rings, and he cannot get passed up by Bryant, who was a 2nd banana for three of those. If Shaquille gets his fith ring, I'm okay with that, because Shaquille was absolutely dominant in his prime.
10. The French Open, the World Cup, and the NFL season cannot get here fast enough.
11. I could've written five screenplays in the time I wasted this NBA season, so that's what I'll get back into the get over this disappointment.
12. And I'll pray every single day that Popovich retires. I'm so sick and tired of his "I'm a genius" routine. He's the luckiest coach in the history of professional sports. Tim Duncan is the hero of San antonio, not freaking Gregg Popovich.

This. After all that had happened this season I had pretty low expectations for the playoffs anyway. I can actually root for this Suns team. I like Goran, Nash, and Stoudamiare. Nash really deserves a trophy, I hope he can break Bynums ankles like he was breaking Tim's and Blair's. Oh, and the Magic. They remind me of the Spurs, the version that was deadly from 3 and had a monster big man. Also, a 3pt shooting big who is 10x the players Bonner is. God I hope the Lakers/Celtics/Cavs don't win it all.

Honestly I wasn't depressed about last nights loss. I really didn't believe our frontline matched up well with the Lakers so even winning the series I felt would have been all for not. Part me was relieved that I wouldn't have to see Bonner guarding Gasol or George Hill guarding Bynum in the paint. I was depressed in '08 for a week because I felt that was the last chance for the spurs to repeat. In '09 I was pissed off for few a days because I really despise the mavs. This year its different I don't hate the suns its really hard to considering the spurs have beaten them too many times along with robbing Nash of his prime years that it makes it difficult to really hate on them. Hell I don't even hate their fans considering they have suffered for so long that their gloating doesn't bother me I probably would be the same way if I was in their situation.
I have a simple phrase I apply to my life which is you can't lose all the time and this year that applied to the suns. As of right now I still watch the playoffs whats going on the east is very exciting the ECF will be great. I will also flip the channels back a forth to see if the Suns can beat the lakers if they are winning I'll watch but if they are losing I will probably watch a rerun of Seindfield.

i am not content and when the fans become content...there is no pressure on management to spend money and look for talent every year. This is exactly why the spurs are out of the playoffs...Manu getting his extension was pressure on management to keep manu....remember "no Manu no Renew". The lakers are in it every year because the fans boooo if the team sucks....so they go out every year to get the best.

Well, for one, I took my cheap print out of the big 3 + RJ off the wall.
Right now I'm focusing on getting my first year of college done and thank god I'm doing well. Otherwise my luck would suck. Enjoying my last summer in my hometown before I move to Portland in the fall.
I'm gonna go on Spurstalk less unless if there's awesome news.
I'm gonna watch the Spurs 99, 03, 05, 07 dvds and appreciate the role players this team had and how I'm better off as a Spurs fan that fans of other teams.
I'm gonna watch the rest of the playoffs and root for anyone except Lakers and Cavs. I may vomit watching the Celtics however because of Michael Finley coattailing them.
Start watching some Splitter highlights so I can be as excited as everyone when he signs here or as infuriated as everyone when he teases the Spurs.
It's gonna be different watching highlights of spurs beating the suns because I truly know the Suns are our new Mavericks now but much more classier.
Man I wish I could have the days from June 23 (the RJ trade) to the start of the regular season back and not rush through it for a disappointing season.
I cant believe it's the offseason again. I was hoping that I would feel better about this offseason compared to the 09 offseason because the first round exit to the Mavs made the front office be aggressive. Now I dont think they can pull off any great moves other than bring in Splitter so I expect the same group to be here next year except Mason.

The Suns were simply a better team. No use getting depressed in that. I was happy though, that in the final moments, there was no crowd jeering or booing our Spurs. They were cheering for the very end. The class of our team and the fans is at top of the NBA.

But I'm sure, at odd moments, I'll remember the sweep and fill a little pissed. Like maybe when the Lakers and Cavs meet in the Finals. :pctoss

The elimination is somewhat a relief :lol
Rooting for the Spurs for the last 3 seasons has been very stressful : the injuries, the offensive droughts, Timmy missing FT's, the D gradually getting bad, Pop's retarded rotations...
So true it hurts more than the actual loss.

I am going to cheer for the Suns... 90% because Goran Dragič is on the squad and 10% because I don't want the Lakers repeating.

besides my regular job I play music/guitar/write/record/etc...
I have two things that distract me from that;
#1)Sex
#2) Spurs basketball
...so I guess now I can devote more time to my girl and my music
until next season....
