Gonna be a great matchup. Will the Lakers get revenge on their true rival who has won 4 out of the 5 last playoff meetings?
Now I know what you're thinking. "The Boston Celtics are the Lakers rival, not the Sons."
Let's get out of here with that bullshit. There's no rivalry there. Like many of you, I once bought into the hype of Purple N Gold vs. Celtic Green. But it's all a lie. The distinguished Lakaluva convinced me there's no rivalry if one team completely dominates the other.
I really thought there was a Spurs/Lakers rivalry, but the overall record stands at 8-3 in the Lakers favor. How can that be a rivalry? Conversely, the Celtic hold a 9-2 edge over the Lakers.
Suns-Lakers makes much more sense. The record stands at 4-7 in the Lakers favor with the Suns winning 4 out the last 5. Sounds good to me.
So fuck Purple vs. Green.
Purple vs, uh, Purple (or Orange?) is where it's at!
I still remember Tim Thomas trying to get his Horry on...

No, more like a one sided ass pounding, with the Suns shooting their load on the Lakers' face

That one still gets my heart beating...i thought it was OVER. What a nightmare..about to be upset by the 7 seed, team is scambling, almost lose the ball, Nash bricks a three, Marion pulls a rebound from nowhere, finds Tim Thomas who is covered, Thomas pump fakes.......
Season saved.
I still cant believe he hit that. One of the biggest shots in Suns history.

The Suns were 0-6 against the Lakers until 1990.

Not really their fault. Lakers, who were essentially an allstar team, feasted on a weak West back then.

And still no titles.
Son, let me ask you this: Which is more important to you: pussy or a title ?

And still no titles.
Still was an amazing shot that ruined Kobe's title hopes that year and crushed the black hearts of Laker nation.
And yes you Laker fantards were talking "title" after you went up 3-1 on the 2nd seeded Suns.
And remember, Laker fans are always right, their logic irrefutable, so in reality that was an epic choke job by the Fake Show.
That's why this is gonna be a tense series. Suns denied the Lakers a title shot, then followed it up next year with a 4-1 beatdown.
Lakers have revenge on their minds, surely.

Pussy is a dime a dozen, titles are had to get, unless you're a Laker:lol.
So, personally it makes no difference to you since you can't get either

IMO they're the Lakers' top rivals right now West and East. Been a long time since any team except those knocked the Lakers out and Phx did it twice.
Would love to see them match up with both teams... couldn't ask for a better shot at redemption in one season.
