No comments about Fisher? I don't care how old he is, he was solid for the Lakers this season, and he always steps up at the right time in the playoffs - and that's the season that counts.
If the Spurs could land Fisher at a good price, and Chris Duhon they would have a pretty solid base at the point. Manu runs the point very well for some fairly long stretches. Hill is a combo that can put in time at the point. Maybe bring back Garrett Temple?
I'm not on the "trade Parker" bandwagon, but he is their only viable trade chip, if they want to pick up another impact player. With Fisher/Duhon and the others mentioned, I think the Spurs might have the luxury of considering a move. Sure they would give up some at that position, but if they could pick up enough elsewhere? Maybe a Mike Miller, plus a prospect?
Fisher would be a short-term pickup. We (hopefully) still have Nando De Colo waiting in the wings. And maybe Hill or Temple develop enough to actually take the reigns. I'm just saying - if we could get Fisher at a reasonable price, I would jump on it in a heartbeat.

Other than occasional timely shooting he brings nothing, Well other than the loathing that accompanies hie occasionally timely scoring.

And yes, Fuck Fisher.
Yeh... you have to hate a guy who makes tough shots when his team really needs them. Fuckit - we don't need any of that on the Spurs.:bang

That's the great dilemma that Spurs' fans have now.
But if you're suggesting signing Fisher and trading Parker for another piece, then you sort of are on the trade Parker bandwagon, no?

Of course, if he ended up on the Spurs he'd probably lose his clutchness.

Too bad the Spurs don't have some $ free like they did when they were able to pick up Horry. Fisher's one Spur Killer I've hoped they'd be able to land eventually. The LLE won't get it done.
