With Donnie Walsh in the market for a point guard, there are reports that San Antonio would consider trading Tony Parker, who lost his starting job to Hill and has told close friends he and his actress wife, Eva Longoria, would love to relocate to New York. "Pop loves George and I could see a scenario where he would trade Tony," said a Spurs source, referring to San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich. "Tony will be looking for a max deal and New York may pay him." Another scenario is the Knicks recruiting a third team to complete a deal. The Spurs, who were just swept by the Suns in the second round, want to get more athletic and are said to be interested in restricted free agent forward Rudy Gay (http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketball/knicks/2010/05/12/2010-05-12_if_san_antonio_guard_tony_parker_becomes_availa ble_new_york_knicks_could_be_will.html#ixzz0niPKgd Xz). The fact that Manu Ginobili re-signed with the Spurs suggests that the club still believes its "big three" - Parker, Ginobili and Tim Duncan - can make one more run at a title. Would love to get this guy, but Spur FO would have to be very aggressive on negotiations to even have a chance at him.
will not happen and should not happen !

I remember reading some time ago, where Gay was quoted as saying that he'd love to stay in Memphis, providing the situation and deal was right. Other than that, he'd always been intrigued with New York. I'm sure he wouldn't quibble if he ended up in S.A.

Good, but not worth his contract.
They already have one player like this...

A) Ball hog and B) going to the Nets.
He's a chucker. His pts/FGA for his career is an anemic 1.18. That's the kind of player that costs GMs their jobs. As a comparison, Manu's poorest year in a long time, 2009-2010, his number was 1.36. His career number is 1.4
Gay'll put some fannies in the seats, but he'll be golfing by 1 May every year. His ceiling is to be a weak #2 or a strong #3 on a contender. Like every other young player, though, he wants to be paid like a franchise guy. Not smart.

Gay with Tim, Manu, Splitter, Hill and Pop is much different than Gay with...
