Well it's almost time for me to pack my suitcase and step on the damn plane to return to Holland.
First of course there is the game 2 beatdown tonight and the invasion in Seattle on Thursday before it's Friday the 13th and I be gone.
I enjoyed my last weekend in San Antonio very much as I visited the Carver Academy on Friday. Ms Murphy (the head of school) had invited me to attend the spring concert and I was very proud to be back there and see how much things have progressed since the last time I was there.
Got to talk to David about the projects coming up and how very nice it is to see the Carver expand and doing so well.
I asked if there were plans in the far future for the Carver Academy to expand outside of San Antonio and David replied that would be a possibility, but first the set up has to be perfected right here in San Antonio.
Than in the evening me and a friend went to watch the very first Silver Stars game of the season vs. the L.A. Sparks. I was pleasantly surprised by the competitiveness of the game even though we were playing without our star player Marie Ferdinand who is still playing playoff ball in Europe. Especialy our top pick of the draft (#4) Kendra Wecker played very well.
The coach for the L.A. Sparks this season is Henry Bibby (yes Mike's dad) so it was great to see him in person too as he is the only player in the history of US bball to win a championship in the NCAA, CBA and NBA.
To check out a few pictures of the game go here (http://spurstalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15318) .
Than it was on to get the Sonics beatdown started on Sunday and you can go check out some nice pics of that game over here (http://img1.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=p50800010ac.jpg) .
Aight, Seattle looks tweaked and it is for us to put our foot down and end this series with a Sonic sweep so we can get the real series of this Western Conference started vs. Phoenix who will be unbeaten in the playoffs when we'll face them end of next week.
Don't forget that we'll be on the same 8-0 winning streak when we get things started in Phoenix!
I'll be watching the games in the middle of the night in Holland, but first I will be shouting my lungs out yet again tonight for the last time at the SBC and than doing the same at the screen at the GTG for game 3.
See ya when I see ya and if not:
GO SPURS GO!!!
