Picked up the new Weezer CD on my way to work this morning...I have to say, I'm impressed. I was disappointed with the Green Album, and almost as disappointed with Maladroit...and in my opinion they've redeemed themselves with this one. Anyone else heard it yet?

Not yet do you have the new Beck album. Does it have that old style to it like the Buddy Holly song.

I stopped in at B&N on the way to work this morning to pick up Stand Up by DMB and I saw both that and Spoon's new album and thought about picking them up as well.

Hopefully I'll get a chance to hear it soon. I actually thought the Green album was ok, but nothing has ever lived up to the Blue Album and Pinkerton.

Yeah , I overpaid on this one by about 4 bucks. But, B&N was the only thing open at 9am, and I had to be at work by 10, and I'm that much of a Dave fan that there was no way in hell I was going to wait untill after work to pick it up.

Jess picked up the Eels new cd and Cold Roses by Ryan Adams last night as well. I listned to part of Cold Roses and it reminded me a lot of his stuff before his last album; it had a much bigger country feel to it.

Blue was by far their best, not even a question about it. As good as any future work may be, you can't catch lightning in a bottle like that again.

The new eels is my favorite they've done, and that says a lot considering how strong "Daisies" and "Electro Shock" were.

As for Weezer, I'm picking that up on the way home. And I've always been a huge Maladroit fan.

Pinkerton is weak compared to other Weezer albums. Lyrically and musically. I may actually like the Green Album better. If I wasn't such a "completionist" I'd have probably sold Pinkerton a long time ago (after making copies of a few choice songs).

I think it's main problem is that it's so back heavy. The first three songs sound like weak B-sides or demos... "Why Bother" is strong, but short... and you really don't get a string of good songs until "The Good Life"-"El Scorcho"-"Pink Triangle".

I've had an bootleg copy for a few weeks. This Is Such A Pity and The Damage In Your Heart are awesome songs, and I'm not even a big Weezer fan. I like a few on each album, Buddy Holly, Island In The Sun and the likes...

P.S. I can't wait to pick up the new Oasis album.

I love the variety on Make Believe...Hold Me is great classic Weezer sounding, and I love the 80's vibe of This is Such a Pity. I'm a big fan of My Best Friend and the Damage in your Heart too.

Adrienne,

There's a really good feature on the Weezer album in today's Star Telegram.

Weezer is for Homos.

Also, a slight observation from reading your posts, I must say, all of you listen to homo music.

Late.

9 out of 10 music fans prefer Weezer to Limp Bizkit.

And in a totally unrelated survey, 1 out of every 10 music fans was found to be mentally retarded.

Man, does anyone else think that Foo Fighters song is the best one since Everlong? I LOVE it, and I'm dying that I have to wait a month for that album.

It's not the ONLY thing open at 9am, Manny...

Even when I shopped there, I wouldn't buy CDs. They are notorius for selling edited versions. I like my Parental Advisory sticker thank you very much.

I've only bought one cd ever at Wal-Mart. None of the songs were edited, just the tracklisting...

Oasis' 2000 album Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants has the first tracked called Fuckin In The Bushes....it just had little red Xs over the word Fuckin...weak.

I don't think that's because of Walmart, I thought all the versions were like that?
