WTF is wrong with these idiots. If anything the games should have started Friday and this way there would be a game Sunday....no need to give teams a week off when both are done and ready to play....another retard move by the NBA.

To give Kobe as much rest as possible

didn't I already make a thread about this?

the NBA rigging the schedule to give the Lakers the most rest?

I know that the dates for the finals are already set.
So i'm assuming they are trying to spread it out some to avoid a two week break should one team sweep.

Well maybe not set the dates for the finals then...wgas about that. Give teams 2-3 days off b/w rounds and get it over in a timely fashion

Can’t believe all of the conspiracy theorist who always think that this is about Kobe…Kobe was ready to play the day after he eliminated the Jazz…Bynum & Gasol needed the rest…

Because the league has no shame.

Five years ago, the Suns beat the mavs in OT to win their WCSF matchup on a thursday night. The WCF started about 40 hours later on Saturday morning. The Suns were given one day to fly back and prepare for the Spurs.

This time, the Lakers beat the Jazz on Monday and are given an entire week to prepare for the Suns.

Da_Suns- Don't you want to play the Mighty Lakers at their best? You all know darn good & well that Bynum is having knee problems that will require off season surgey…Gasol got a little banged up against the Jazz & need some rest as well…What is the big deal?

Actually this benefits the suns the most. I guess everyone forgot that Nash's eye was swollen shut.

Paul, you still pickin' the Lakers?

While the Suns have been sent to slave labor camp, where they will be put through grueling physical labor to tire them out, and fed stale bread crusts and sewer water to break their bodies down for the upcoming series.

Paul -Nobody is forgetting that Nash got beat up by the Spurs…But Nash is Canadian, he plays hockey to relax, he is tougher than anyone else in the NBA, he does not need the rest…

The only hope for the Suns is to somehow acquire Kwame Brown.

His eye was fine the next day. It does help to give Robin more time to practice, though.

I'm not complaining, Robin's back is supposedly completely fine now so he has a few days to at least try and get some wind and endurance back.

So there's actual hope of Lopez coming back? I'll take it at this point just to help keep bynum/gasol from getting easy putbacks and boards. But really, can the suns sign Kwame for a 15 day contract?

The terrible conspiracy against the Lakers is so obvious, giving Steve "Popeye" Nash an extra week of rest to heal up and the entire Suns team a whole extra day off more than the Lakers.

It is amazing that the Lakers have won 15 championships, most of them 5-on-10... 5 players vs. 5 other players, 3 crooked refs, Stu "Corrupt" Jackson and David "Puppetmaster" Stern.

It is painfully obvious that the entire league is slanted against trying to deny the Lakers their fair shot at winning games and titles while the Lakers are forced to fight for attention with the Clippers in the small LA market. Were it not for the fact that the Lakers are God's Favorite Team, they'd likely only have 11-12 rings as a franchise.

Hmmmm ...I LOVE IT when a team playing really well ...rushes aplayer back from injury and are forced to integrate them with a team firing on ALL cylinders that works out REALwell ...

Recent examples:

Last year's NBA finals: Nelson rushes back and Fisher was the most instrumental of the PG's in the series even though he is 2 years past his prime

NBA Finals in '08: Ariza rushes back is wildly in-effective

Amare for the stretch run last year

Brandon Roy THIS year ...

Derek Anderson for the Spurs a few years back

I could keep going ...but you get the idea ... I hope Lopez plays ...

My question is this...

Can the Lakers take more than 2 games off the Suns? If not, it can be logically argued that the Blazers had the 2nd best team in the West this year.

While the Suns have been sent to slave labor camp, where they will be put through grueling physical labor to tire them out, and fed stale bread crusts and sewer water to break their bodies down for the upcoming series.

That came out wrong. I wasnt trying to say that the Lakers were given an advantage over the Suns this year. I was trying to point out that the Lakers won their series "last" and theres a week for them to prepare whereas when the Suns were the "last" to win their series in 05 they got one day to prepare (including flying back).

Just total lack of consistency.

NBA rank & file have always preferred playing every other day. What's happened here with this week long hiatus is driven by money & greed. Ain't nothin' wrong with money & greed.

It's all about the Finals scheduling (which is on ABC and their scheduling is planned way in advance)

If they played right away and there was a sweep, Lakers/Suns could have finished and be sitting around almost 2 weeks before the Finals.

Probably because ESPN/ABC wants the Sunday schedule for Game 1.

You know, they always have that day for blockbuster games.
