While I like Kubrick's movies alot and he's had wide ranging influence, I'd say there are some directors more influential.
My personal favorite:
Alfred Hitchcock
Rear Window, To Catch a Thief, Vertigo, North by Northwest, Psycho, The Birds
Possibly more influence:
