Has anyone else noticed that hollywood is ridiculously out of good ideas?

There are good movie ideas out there (including my, elpimpo, and mookie's pipe dream)

But they are releasing nothing but remakes and people are stupid enough to go watch them!!!!

Amytiville horror was one of hte latest

I went to Hitchiker's Guide over the weekend and i swear to god there were previews for a remake coming out of the Bad News Bears featuring Billy Bob Thorton as his character from Bad Santa (an ignorant drunk)

There was also a lindsay lohan movie of some talking vw bug named herbie or some shit that my girlfriend said was a remake too.

Why don't we all put our heads together and compile a list of all the stupid lame ass remakes hollywood has been shoving down our throats so far...
Remakes of old tv shows count as well

1) Amytiville Horror
2) Bad News Bears
3) Charlie's Angels
4) Starsky and Hutch

there are more out there, and you know them...list them here.

ok slight shift in topic, yes i liked dawn of the dead.

mostly because by chance i was having zombie nightmares before hearing about the movie then ended up seeing it and was genuinely scared for the first time in a looooong time. those zombies just ran so god damned fast!!

and yes i would ruin jessica simpson, but i didnt even know she was in it.
thats like reason enough why people will go see this stupid movie though...

My theory on this topic...”Hollywood has no original ideas”...Hollywood is inundated with film geeks from film schools who have had few real life experience...what else can they do but recycle somebody else’s story...

Now take a real guy from Texas who had a few beers...crossed the border...and snuck back a hot Senorita & tried to shove her through his bedroom window without his mom finding out...That is funny! Real stories that nobody has heard before... :lol

HBO could do a series on that...

You guys want to know why they do remakes? Because they make money because drones of people go out to see them.

It's not from a lack of ideas, it's just an easy way to make money.

Yep thats exactly right they know people like little lemmings flying off and drowning into the water will come out and see some of this stupid unoriginal recycled shit anyways.
I remember reading a "New" Superman movie coming back
"Batman Begins"

I swear its going to be a fucking matter of time before someone remakes
"Scarface" and "Jaws" again. that will really piss me off once they re-make a movie that should NOT be remade.

wasn't "Assault on Precinct 13" a remake too?

I agree though, thats all we get nowadays. My sis and I made that observation too. I swear for the past few months movies have sucked! There hasn't been a good lineup in a while. Hopefully Star Wars gets things going.

Movie's officially started to SUCK suck the summer of 2001 when they came out with like 4 or 5 crappy crappy scary movies that were all exactly the same

also, there were other movies released around this time that had the same theme, actors, etc

it was the beginning of this entire heap of bull crap we call hollywood

the lame thing is, we have no choice but to keep it going.

When I'm in victoria, on a saturday night, sometimes there is no other possible thing to do besides go to the theatre. So it also happened that in that same summer of 2001, we discovered that even the shittiest lamest stupidest most commercial movie of them all could be worth a few bucks if you were just really fucked up while seeing them.

Jude law movies are the exception.

jude plays a really british fashionable guy who everyone suspects is gay, but nobody will say
chicks love that bastard, im a guy, ill sometimes admit when a guy is good looking, that guy is ugly as shit, and he's gay, him and toby maguire should make a movie where are really good friends and then start having an affair, everychick in the whole country would go see it
thats a good idea for a movie, as long as you can get orlando bloom to play a medevil archer/prince/warrior sent to the future to stop the romance
that movie would make star wars look like the sandlot 2

Can't Be Faded- Exactly! Everything's a scary movie now. If it wasn't written by the writers of the Ring, it was produced by the director of The Grudge blah blah blah. And yeah, Jude Law is in a hell of a lot of movies lol

A remake of the Longest Yard give me a break thats a classic.
What more can you add to that storyline that would make it more interesting?

Add the fact that Burt Reynolds is jumping on the moneytrain bandwagon doesn't make it any easier to accept.

And yes I'll probably end up seeing it, just because my oldest daughter prides herself on the fact that she has seen every Adam Sandler movie thats been made.

BTW Spanglish SUCKED!!!!!!

Steve Nash can star in the Jackie Early Haley role. Trivia time: He lives in SA.

Have you seen him in that movie?? Is it just me or does he look and sound seriously freaky. Another remake but it's as good as the original is called The Magnificant Seven remade back in the 60s. It based on an old Japanese B&W film called Seven Samurai. Does that count or does it have to be recent and sucky??
