Does this reduce our chances of getting him?

When is the banner hanging ceremony?
encouraging sign. splitter has already accomplished a lot in europe, now it's time to take it to the next level in the nba.

Sounds like a video game. He starts off small, gets to be a big fish in a small pond, then tries to make it in the big time. Unless he thinks video games are stupid and chooses to stay on level 1.

Great for him, and good for his confidence too. Hopefully he'll realize he's above europe and come home this summer :smokin

Congrats to Splitter. I'm expecting great things from him if he goes NBA.

congrats to master Splitter! All we need is a defensive stopper(Battier or Ariza ), a 3 point specialist, and focused POP.

Bouroussis was close to being MVP of the Final Four, yes.
A real beast.
Good news. Hopefully he adapts quickly to the Spurs, Duncan needs all the help he can get.

Congratulations to Splitter but if you look at the past winners: Walter Hermann, Andres Nocioni, Scola twice, Marc Gasol, Juan Carlos Navarro it doesn't exactly mean greatness in the NBA. We can probably expect Splitter to be serviceable and be at least worth the money we give him but we shouldn't get our hopes up too high.

if he can turn out to be a scola or gasol type of player thats a lot......and there is a chance to develop since he is young

Who said it does? I think we realize he's not a Tim Duncan type.

Marc Gasol is a good NBA player. Scola too, Navarro made a solid season in Memphis, but he returned due to personal reasons, Nocioni now is a shadow of the player he used to be.
Walter Hermann was playing out of his mind that year.
Tiago will be a solid NBA player, similar to Marc Gasol.

So is this going to cause a KBP sighting to happen? Especially in defense of his boy.

Some might think that but to be MVP over is an accomplishment. If he plays to Scola's level then this is a great situation for the Spurs.

If Tiago turns out to be solid player then its all good for the Spurs.
Too bad the Spurs couldn't have gotten him over in the beginning.
Better late than never.

I know they are different players, but if Tiago could give you production and impact similar to Marc Gasol, that would be huge. I will take that all day.

Scola and gasol are studs and nocioni has been good. The only bad one from that list was hermann and he never got a fair shot in the NBA IMO

I know a lot of people make fun of this guy but serious question! Do you'll think his game is more like Marc Gasul or Anderson Veraijo? I like them both but I like Marc better!

Varejao is more of a hustle guy/defensive specialist. Tiago has a nice post game, so I'd definitely say he leans more towards a Marc Gasol type.

Do he have a nice mid-range? Y in the fuck didn't the Spurs put they lil duckets 2gatha a been pick him up. If I'm not mistaken Tim took a pay cut & everythang so they could sign help & Jefferson is all rhey came up with. Now I c y most players be greedy!

They weren't able to offer him more than the rookie salary until this year. The rookie salary would be less than what he is making in Europe. This year they are able to use the MLE to sign him. The MLE is roughly 3-4 million more than he is currently making in Spain. If he doesn't come this year, I will be surprised.
