Holt sounds like a typical Spurs fan, IMO.

Recap?

-It was a frustrating year.
-If the team hadn't suffered so many injuries, playoffs would have been different.
-Sometimes we all forget how hard it is to win a championship.

Sometimes we all forget how hard it is to win a championship.

True. We are spoiled fans. Anything short of a championship and we are unhappy. It takes something really special AND have a lot of breaks to win ONE championship. We got 4 in 9 years and we contended every single year we didn't win. Some would say we were 2 plays from having had won 6 (.4 and Manu's foul). Every single sport franchise would have traded places with us during that span. Be proud of that.:flag:

for me, it's not that the Spurs didn't win a championship that pisses me off, it's the shit that went wrong this year that we were all hoping would result in something a lot more than a sweep. it's the fact that two guys (RMJ and RJ) that were supposed to give use 39+% on threes not only failed to reach that, but never even CAME CLOSE. every team has to deal with holes in their roster at some point (well, unless you're LA i suppose, but even then Dfish is one to an extent), but those are usually anticipated before the season starts. this team simply failed to meet its expectations. we were thrown a curve ball.

True. But it seems some teams have an easier time than others.....just look at all the championships LA and Boston have....what is it, like a million between the two?

Actually it's

Boston 17
LA 15
Chicago 6
SA 4

All teams face injuries. The problem was that no one stepped up when anyone went down except for George Hill.

To blame the injuries yet again this year makes it sound as if they believe the team was fine the way it was.

I agree, I said before this team was built to be a second round contender.

You have to realize that Boston and La have been in the league a lot longer than the Spurs. Boston won a bunch of those titles in the 60's.

The competition of the 60s is < the competition of modern day teams.

Even healthy, the Spurs were not close to a contender if you are being honest. They would have been much better, but not a true contender.

If he spent the money sooner and got Scola years ago, it will be a completely different story.

But still feel sorry for him for this frustrating year.

Boston won eight straight if I'm not mistaken
