What lazy bastard puts an egg in a microwave instead of the stovetop. It takes 10 minutes to boil an egg.

Filling, low-fat, low-cal, 1 minute breakfast: spray some pam in a mug, crack an egg, beat the yolk to avoid explosion :lol and nuke until done. Plop some picante on it and viola! Yummy.

I microwaved my first egg in 1977. In this exact way, only added cheese on top. :tu :lol

Microwaving an egg???? WTF? What kind of lazy motherfucker does that? Give me two fried huevos rancheros toppled with Chorizo ranchero salsa, refried beans, and some homemade flour tortillas. San Antonio's breakfast of champions right there. Oh, I forgot the big red!:hat:hungry:

My mom taught me that when I was 6, because I couldn't reach the top of the stove at the time. :spin

Why do people say refried beans? Even I do it sometimes, cause that shit rubs off on other people. You only fry it once.

why do restaurants always say "we make homemade tortillas here"?

Yes and no.

Pinto beans are hydrated, stewed once, strained, then mashed.

They're then cooked again with some sort of fat, usually lard or vegetable oil. Some people consider this "frying" even though it's really just added to give the beans a better flavor and consistency.

They should call 'em recooked beans or something.

Because they're made from scartch(flour, baking powder, vegatable shorting, warm water, etc) and have little to no preservatives. Thus considering them "homemade". Many Mexican restuarants outside the southwestern United States use factory made tortillas with a shitload of preservatives. The taste just isn't the same.

My grandma use to fry them with leftover bacon fat. Best fuckin beans you'll ever eat.

well then they are made from scratch, not home.

There is no subsitution to homemade tortillas for any dish whatsoever...

I don't like eggs from the microwave. For some reason I can only do scrambled and sunnyside-up...I mean theoretically, you could have scrambled via the microwave, but I like mine with onions, peppers, and meunster/monterrey jack cheses...it just wouldn't mesh well in the microwave.

It's weird how those guys are sooo amused by the egg blowing up, they must be high.

I tried to warm up an already boiled egg in the microwave once and it blew up, but it took less than 30 seconds.

My dad has been microwaving eggs for years. Has it down to a science. Scrambles it up, throws it in the microwave for, I'm not sure how long. Takes it out half cooked, sticks a fork in it a few times, throws it back in, finishes cooking it, throws it on a toasted bagel with some sharp cheddar and tobasco. With a cup of coffee, it's his breakfast most days.

Personally, I never have nuked a scrambled egg. Not my thing.

Has anybody ever blown up a microwave??? I once blew up the microwave and almost burned downed my apartment one time when I forgot to unwrap the aluminum foil off of a few leftover tacos from Taco Cabana. I was working at a call center at that time and was going to UTSA. Well, friday rolls around, I get out of work and decide to have a few cold ones at Buffalo Wild wings with my cousin and his Indian friend who's is a doctor. His friend kept on buying round after round (he didn't care since he lives across the street from I-10, so what are the odds of getting stoped by SAPD) and kept on drinking till 1:00 A.M( we started at 10). My cousin drives me home, and we also spark up a mini blunt he had rolled prior to meeting up at BWW. I get home intoxicated as hell, sneaking to the restroom so I don't wake up my girl. Take a long ass 5 minute piss, then proceed to almost burn down the whole apartment complex. Moral of the story??? Alcohol+ Weed+ college students don't mix well with microwaves! :lmao
