Probably true to some extent. 19/19 from Odom is unexpected, even against the Suns.

Kinda like Hill in Games 3, 4, and 6 against the Mavs :cry

Wow, that's sad..

*has flashback of Amare letting Odom blow by him for that embarrassing layup*..

Ya, Odom might not have another game like that, but calling it lucky?..

Suns are starting to sound like the Nuggets..

33 and 10 in '07 in an elimination game doesn't necessarily mean this is a fluke for Odom...now, the consistency part does lead one to think that this may not happen again. For our sake, I hope it does...

So be it, maybe I'll get lucky again...just play the game" @reallamarodom (http://twitter.com/reallamarodom) on Amare Stdmre saying his 19 rebounds were luck about 1 hour ago (http://twitter.com/DuranLA/status/14247237490) via twidroid (http://twidroid.com/)

:lol Wow. Since when did the Suns start acting like the Nuggets? This really isn't a good approach to take against the Lakers to be honest. Usually when they lose it's because of lack of effort/motivation so this is the last thing the suns should be doing. Especially to a guy like Lamar who is usually content with fading into the background. At what point does some blame start going to Gentry for not telling his guys to STFU?

Alvin Gentry and his coaching staff have decided that a new and extremely important strategy must be employed for the rest of the series...

Alvin Gentry doing some damage control on Amare's "Odom had a lucky game" comment:

"That's a ridiculous statement," said Suns coach Alvin Gentry, who was clearly perturbed. "It's not a lucky game, ok? He played great. The guy is capable of playing great. We have to do a better job on him.

"If we let him get to the basket and lay it in, I'm going to say it's probably not luck. He'll make whatever he shot -- nine out of 11 or whatever it was. We have to do a better job on him. I would not call it a lucky game, no."

I like Gentry. Amare was up top with his legs locked, not bent, no way he could move laterally doing that. Crappy D.

You dumbfuck. Steve Nash had more rebounds than you, skullfuck.

Stoudemire calls Odom’s game “lucky” (http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=mc-stoudemireodom051810)
By Marc J. Spears

Did the Los Angeles Lakers get lucky in their series-opening demolition of the Phoenix Suns?

That’s what Amar’e Stoudemire thinks.

Lamar Odom totaled 19 points and 19 rebounds in the Lakers’ 128-107 win in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals. Considering that Odom had averaged 8.5 points and 8.1 rebounds in Los Angeles’ previous 10 playoff games, Stoudemire chalked up the increase to luck and said no one should expect a similar performance in Wednesday’s Game 2.

”I’m not giving him no hype right now,” Stoudemire said. ”He had a lucky game in Game 1.”

When asked to expound, Stoudemire said: ”That’s his career high rebounds in his whole playoff career. That’s the first time he had a game like that against us. Now we have to make sure we focus in on it. We had so much focus on [Andrew] Bynum and [Pau] Gasol till he snuck on in and got 19 boards. So, it’s not happening no more. We’re going to contain it.”

Odom looked stunned when told of Stoudemire’s comments after Wednesday’s practice. He wouldn’t, however, offer much of a retort.

”We don’t get into that. No time or room for that. He’s right,” Odom said.

One person who strongly disagreed with Stoudemire was his own coach. Alvin Gentry said Stoudemire made ”a ridiculous statement.”

”It’s not a lucky game, OK,” said Gentry, who previously coached Odom with the Los Angeles Clippers. ”The guy played great. We have to do a better job on him. If we let him get the ball to the basket and lay it in, I’m going to say it’s probably not luck.”

There were 2 things that concerned me

1. Letdown in game 2
2. Soft play by the suns won't prepare the Lakers for the finals.

Now those concerns are gone. Thanks Amare, keep it up! :toast

Channing "Say My Name" Frye was on 620am today talking more shit!!! "We haven't lost back to back games since Feb, or some shit." I've never seen this from a team that is obviously behind the 8-ball. I guess their still on cloud nine from the Spurs series.

Props to them, they are giving the Lakers more fuel for the championship ride :lobt:

Channing Frye should be the last person on the Suns talking shit...with that being said, I don't think the, "we haven't lost back-to-back games since Feb. 8th isn't all that trashy. Maybe I would have had to hear it and well, the Suns haven't played the Lakers back-to-back yet either...

Based upon Amare's ego and IQ, should anyone be surprised at this? It's too much trouble to take responsibility for your own piss-poor effort. So let's just call the opponent, who burned your ass at both ends, lucky.

Everytime I think this dude says or does something really done, he ups the ante.

I don't ever remember a series where from Stars to Scrubs, they were talking as much trash as the Suns this year.

It's like the Suns have this supreme confidence that they'll take out the Lakers in 5.

The Suns had a decent season, but the buck stops here. They're a scrub team and will be treated accordingly. Hanging your season on Hill stopping Kobe is like scratching a lions ass with sand paper and expecting not to get bit. Good luck.
