View Full Version : How would a prime Elden Campbell fare against a prime Andrew Bynum?

Some fake Lakers fan tried to tell me that Bynum is nothing but a poor's man Elden Campbell. I had to call him on his bullshit. I said when has Elden ever had a playoffs like the one Baby Drew is having this year? I told him that Baby Drew is averaging 10 and 8 on 586 shooting. After I quoted those monster numbers, I gave him my best smug face and said, "and he's only 22."

Asshole just laughed. He said a 33 old Campbell put 14 and 7 in the 02 playoffs playing less minutes.

I was so mad. Rather than continuing to argue with this moron, I just stormed out. However, I did wait for him outside the Starbucks where I met him at and followed him home. He was cute, but my intentions weren't romantic (besides, the other 21 forever has my heart). I'm going to print out the contents of this thread that will indeed show how all the intelligent posters here agree with me and then personally deliver it to his Baby Drew hating ass.

You switch Baby Drew for faggot Elden and the Lakers win that series with Bynum owning "The Admiral."

Nobody will ever be as good as a 22 year old Andrew Bynum, dude puts up 10pts 8rebs like it's easy, those numbers aren't easy to come by especially not for a young 7 footer. Bynum>Hakeem>Robinson>Campbell

I hate it when people link to basketball-reference.com I end up on there for about an hour looking back through box scores from the late 90's and early 00's.

Back in the days where 30-18-7-5 games were a regular thing for Duncan, Garnett and Shaq :lol.

Awesome era.

I think you lack an understanding of some things.

Elden had a much higher IQ but nowhere near the athleticism.

The main thing I remember about Elden Campbell, besides the fact that he had the same facial expression every time I saw him and seemed like one bored motherfucker out there on the basketball court, is that he was on that championship Piston team. He played some valuable backup minutes guarding his former teammate Shaq and did pretty decent on Shaq iirc. I think Elton had ballooned up to well over 300 lbs at that point, so his bulk was useful against O'Neal. I was surprised he was still in the league at that point, let alone genuinely useful to a team.

Elden no doubt wishes he was born a few years later than he was, as he would be a top big man in today's market, pulling down max money.

That is some sad but true shit. Elden Campbell would be in the argument for best center in the league. :lol
