NEW YORK - Eva Longoria of ABC's "Desperate Housewives" tops Maxim magazine's sixth annual Hot 100 list of the most successful women of the year in film, television, music, sports and fashion.
Evangeline Lilly ("Lost") is in the No. 2 spot, followed by Jennifer Garner, Lindsay Lohan,
Jessica Alba, Rachel Bilson ("The O.C."), Angelina Jolie, Brittany Murphy,
Jessica Simpson and Sara Foster.

"These are the women whose names are on the lips of people the world over, whose careers are headed for the dizziest heights and whose looks will scorch the back off your retina," Maxim Editor-in-Chief Ed Needham said in a statement Tuesday.

Longoria, who ranked No. 91 on the 2004 list, said her selection for the top spot was "incredible."

"This year has been amazing for me," the 30-year-old actress said in a statement.

Tom Cruise's girlfriend, Katie Holmes, made her debut on the list at No. 22.

The Hot 100 also includes Ashanti (No. 13), Paris Hilton (No. 20),
Anna Kournikova (No. 29),
Avril Lavigne (No. 36),
Halle Berry (No. 41) and
Jennifer Aniston (No. 88).

I don’t think they’re detrimental. It’s great to be represented in any way. Ricardo Montalban said something about that in the documentary The Brown Screen. He said, “What is wrong with being the Latin Lover? Why is that a bad stereotype? I consider that a compliment.” Same thing with Latinas always being cast as the sexy girl. It’s like, that’s a good thing! For instance, my role on LA Dragnet was a tough, smart, sexy cop, and that was a very positive role that I played and a positive image that I represented. So I think that you have both sides of it…there’s a lot of roles for Latinos, not only the stereotypical roles, because we Latinos are doctors and lawyers and cops. Latinos are a lot of things in real life, but unfortunately Latinos are also gangsters. Latinos are also maids, and Latinos are also gardeners in real life. So to accurately portray that is not a stereotype, it’s an accurate reflection. I think instead of Latinos complaining and going, “Oh, poor Latinos. Us poor Latinos. We are so underrepresented, we are so stereotyped,” what we should do is get out and do something about it. Write something about it that reflects what you think we should be portrayed as. Produce something that reflects what you think we should be portrayed as. Direct something, you know what I mean, instead of sitting back and waiting for these roles to happen. They are not going to happen on their own. We need to take charge and create opportunities for our own culture.

I never said she didn't look good or is ugly, I just don't think she's the hottest thing out there. Eva's been around a long time and most of us never knew who she was until DH and started dating Tony.

Actually, what I like about her is that when you see her off the show, she looks normal. She's usually in jeans, t-shirt, and a hat at the Spurs game. I've seen lots of candid shots of her and she's usually in a sweat suit. She always looks very pretty at award shows. However, if she wasn't famous, she would not stand out in a crowd.

Personally, I think Tim and Brett's wife are cuter. And Sean's wife is gorgeous.

LMAO! I think it quite hilarious that many claim to think they know what Eva does in L.A. :lol FYI: Eva was on Access Hollywood last night shooting down all rumors about Keifer. The whole cast actually went out to eat, yet the papparazzi only show Eva and Keifer. Plus didn't Eva introduce Tony to Keifer awhile back? I remeber hearing something about Tony inviting him to a game here...Plus notice the ring on Eva's left hand. That's a gift from Tony Parker :)
