Anyone know of any plans for Spurs uniform changes...ever???

Not sure if there's any previous posts or threads on this...please share if so...

But I have always wondered if the spurs would ever do some sort of tweaking to their current uni's. Yes I know they updated the lettering back in 02 or 03 but I'm talking about some major updating. Something like the more modern v-neck types (i.e. raptors, hawks, etc.) Perhaps even a alternate uni??

All I know is that the Spurs have the sickest color scheme in the league and a modern uni would look kick ass.

Probably just wishful thinking, but a good way to pass time before the draft and free agency.

yeah, I suppose they consider their uni's ass untouchable "classic" much like the steelers, raiders, yankees, etc... but even they have that green boston alt uni...so if they can do it...
The Los Spurs and Silver jerseys aren't really in their rotation they're more like promotional gimics. But I suppose it's better than nothing.

They actually changed (more like altered) the uniforms in '03 when they opened the then SBC Center. They used the more boxy lettering and a more prominent silver outline.

I'm fine with the uniforms but I've always wanted the black on black San Antonio jerseys they had back in the day and someone else has posted. That aluminum shit they used was terrible and I'd be more than happy with the throwback road alternate jersey.

While this topic doesn't really matter, those Spurs jerseys are sure the most boring in the NBA. While I find them nice and classical, they are too simple and it is time to change them asap.

Change the writing style, the neck, and maybe get a nice 3rd uniform which is to be used more often than once a year. How many teams have 3 uniforms and wear them often? Quite a lot actually.

Yeah, it was only on the warmups and the floor. I wish I still had a copy of that old Express News poll where the Spurs put their top 4 designs and had readers vote on them. One was bright orange :lol and another was hot pink :lmao . The one that ended up winning looked just like the jersey they ultimately used, except that it had aqua, orange, and pink on the side instead of silver.

I don't think anyone is saying the jersey needs to be radically changed. A prime example would be the Lakers and Pistons. Same basic logo, design and color scheme as their early jerseys but tweaked just enough to look like its from this decade.

you know....i didnt notice until a couple of years ago that our road uniforms say Spurs instead of San Antonio......if the uniforms have been the same since 96, then that is a huge change that I never even noticed till a decade later.

The only things I would change about our uniforms....

1. Put San Antonio back on the road blacks
2. Put Espuelas instead of Los Spurs
3. Bring back the retro Silver jersey that the Ice Man wore....just for special occasions, like Christmas, MLK Jr Day, etc.

When I was a preteen I would've agreed that SA needed a uniform facelift (I'll be honest--I liked the fiesta logo far more than the unis as a kid). But as I got older (and SA started its run of dominance) and got familiar with the simple, yet bold color scheme, I was hooked. I wouldn't change them for anything (not even the neckline). There is nothing cooler (or more intimidating) than that black SA road jersey. That thing is the SHIT--I always buy Spurs road jerseys for that reason alone.
