I got up this morning and tried to check my mail before I went to work, and it went to this msn.com domain thing where it was asking for my birth date.

Seems a little fishy to me. Anyone else have this happen?

Oh, I've got two Gmail accounts. I use my Hotmail for signing up for anything that might result in spam, and also there's a few people I need to give my new address to that still email me on that.

I forgot I had hotmail. I saw this thread and skipped over it cause it slipped my mind lol I'm such a dork. I guess cause I hardly use it. But I check my hotmail every morning too though and I've never gotten that. That is fishy.

I've heard of this Gmail too, but haven't tried it out yet. I think I will. I can always do without that spam.

I set up a junk account on Yahoo, and weirdly, it has become my primary email address. I certainly don't want to pimp a slut like Yahoo, but they do an excellent job of pushing spam into the "bulk" folder.

I still (barely) maintain a hotmail account, only because MSN Messenger is the messenger client of choice in the office.

I use my old yahoo account still, but slowly Gmail is getting more and more of my mail

Details are fuzzy, but doesn't gmail scan all your email and use your email for marketing purposes (and perhaps for purposes even more sinister, if there is such a thing)? Perhaps Yahoo does the same.

Big Brother is watching us, and nobody cares.

I hadn't heard that, and I know a lot of CompSci guys who use gmail who would be really attuned to that kind of thing.

MSN Messenger is the messenger client of choice in the office.

Same here.

As for Gmail, they do look for keywords that get used to put the links on the right of the window.

i'd rather trust my personal info, and e-mails, to google

than MICROSOFT

You make it sound like there are two Big Brothers.

Yeah, but they don't ask you for your birthday. ;)

Gmail rules.

I can't even use my roadrunner address anymore because all it gets is spam and viruses.

And if my account ever fills up with a bunch of spam, I can invite myself 50 more times and get a new address :lol

No birthday question, but I did have to accept some new conditions and they changed some things.
