not talking about border towns, but further in. We are going to Cabo in about two weeks, and wondering if our ATT cell phones will work down there?

anyone have any experience with this?

Never been to cabo. Been to Cancun, Cozumel, and even to the pacific side to Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan and cell phones worked every time.

it depends on what area of the city your kidnappers will locate you at.

Check with AT&T, like stated before.

But you need to make sure your phone is a "world phone." Not all phones work in other countries.

Get ready for a bigger bill.

It's been 3 years since I was out of the country & used my AT&T service. Plus I used mine in Panama.

My advice, aside from checking with AT&T to add the international add-on as others have mentioned, is to use your phone as LITTLE as possible. I spent 5 weeks in Mexico, studying abroad, and got back to a 400 dollar bill -- and that was WITH the added international feature included.

Sucked.
