It is set up on Yahoo and the draft time is:

Mon Aug 16 9:30pm CDT

League ID#: 29499
Password: duncan

Go and sign up your teams ASAP. Then email me at [email protected] to make arrangements to pay the $10.

If you don't email me and make arrangements, then your team will be deleted. I'm not being a hardass, but right now -- 2 weeks before the draft for the $50 league -- only one person has paid me.

So get with it, boys and girls. :) :queen

Real money has been paid to XPert to host the league. I hope individuals will honor their commitments.

Yeah, thanks for that GoN. I know people will pay up -- but they are just procrastinators. We'll get it together this week.

As far as I'm concerned, everyone has until late December to pay up. I'll be drunk on my 16th can of whopp-ass about then.

Right now, I am more interested in people's sincere effort to draft and field a team than I am collecting money.

KoriEllis
07-31-2004, 02:45 AM
I don't want any flakes either. People don't have to pay this week, but they need to at least contact me and make some arrangements so that we can see who is really genuinely interested. I hate it when people give up midseason.

Whens the last day to signup?

I am not sure I want in this year. I haven't done it since 1998/1999. And I haven't followed the NFL closely since then. So I would probably suck at it. :lol

Nikos, are you refering to the $50 league or the $10 league?

Regarding the $50 league, the draft is Wednesday, Aug 18th. You don't have to have the money right away, BUT, you must commit to the league as soon as possible.

You probably don't like the QB's. But I intentionally picked the QB's late. Also a lot of people didn't pick their sleepers in this league because they don't want to give them away before the $50 league draft.

In my defense, I bought only one magazine, and it was solely to prevent me from dragging my laptop into the, uh, reading room.

TE's are pretty much a crap shoot after the top 2 (if not 1). I'll take Gates and his sick (albeit a small sample) YPCatch.

Now, go draft Lee Evans and Michael Jenkins. You know you will.

Oh yeah, DO NOT draft Antonio Bryant, no matter the temptation.

KoriEllis
08-18-2004, 12:17 AM
Scott, you are more of a dick than I originally thought.

Congratulations.

Your attitude is one of the main reason I didn't enjoy fantasy football last season (even though I won the Championship in one league).

Again, I'm glad you aren't playing.

Last season you played in TWO of our leagues. One of them you got destroyed every week. Don't forget that and just remember your "glory" days.

Edge should have a good year as he jockies for a huge contract, but he isn't the back he looked like he was going to turn into a few years ago before the injury.

Since Edge is your best player, I'm assuming you picked towards the end of the first round?

He's predicted a top 8 pick in practically every fantasy football mock draft in the country. And I picked 7th.

Rudi had a great season last year- but there are some questions with him... will he have to split time with Chris Perry? If Carson Palmer isn't all he's cut out to be, will opposing teams start stacking the box on Rudi? Not a bad second back though.

He was by far the best RB left on the board when I picked.

The rest of your RBs are pretty terrible.

Charlie and Eddie as 3rd/4th RB's in a 2 RB league is pretty solid.

WRs:

Chris Chambers
Justin McCareins
Koren Robinson
Donald Driver
Terry Glenn

Chambers should have a good year with Boston out and the Dolphins most likely going pass happy.

Wow, you were smart enough to know that.

If Driver comes back strong (not anticipated) you should be in decent shape with McCareins feeding off Santana Moss' scraps.

Look for Moss to go down by midseason.

QBs:

Well, Delhomme certainly isn't a fantasy guy, and McCown is pretty unproven- especially with one of the top WRs in the league and presumably his top target out for half of the year.

Like I said, I intentionally picked QB's late. I like McCown and he'll put up good numbers at the end of the season.

Scott, no smack from me, just go ahead and evaluate mine, please.

You've probably got the best WR group of any of the ones already posted, but I think your RB group could be trouble. Unless O. Smith gets traded, I don't see him putting up numbers of any significance. The best case scenario is that Bennett gets hurt and Onterrio gets to split time with Moe Williams. Anthony Thomas could get back into the lineup if Thomas Jones gets hurt or doesn't perform- but I think T. Jones could have a nice year.

You've got the second best TE in fantasy (subject to Shockey and Winslow debate), and Bulger is a top tier fantasy QB.

Are you a KC fan or have a generally inclination they will turn that defense around? They are pretty much the same unit- but maybe a new coordinator is all it took.

Like I said, Holt is my favorite player in the league. I will pick him in the second round every time I have the chance. I play fantasy football for fun, not to try to flex my muscles and put other people down.

The game is a lot of luck and many trades, injuries, etc happen throughout the long season. That's why I don't believe in smack talking people on draft night to the point where they don't want to play -- that's what happened last season. I want people to play and stick with it all year. I want there to be trades and competition. But when people get discourage from day one, that doesn't happen.

1-2 X 16 = 16-32

My bad to imply that 16-32 TDs = 24 TDs. I don't know WHERE that number came from.

Probably because 1-2 x 16 doesn't equal 24. I didn't say he was going to score 24 even if you're averaging my answers. I didn't say 24, did I?

Now, if I had said he'd average 24 touchdowns a year, then feel free to repeat what I said.

Since my name was mentioned more than 4 times, I think I'll make my way into this discussion. Yes, I was rediculed for picking Jamal Lewis last year. I know Matt was in on it as well as a couple others. Obviously, nobody is going to own up to how bad I was mocked because jamal lewis had a breakout season, but I remember the smack talk going well beyond friendly jabbing (myself included). However, the moral of this story is jamal lewis made some certain somebodies look foolish for mocking the pick.

Scott, I hope you are kidding about the teams sucking. I don't know what you said you were joking about or if you just said you were joking in general but there are some good teams. We should keep track of points between your yahoo auto draft team that you said would take on any team mentioned in the thread. I'm confident my team would beat your auto draft, but i'm not going to pretend to be a fantasy football oracle and claim my team is the champion when no one could know for sure. Too many other great teams. Blaze could get first round value out of Stephen Davis...who knows? Many teams are a surprise pick away from being serious contenders.

Also, you've got to factor in that more than one of us wasn't showing all their cards in anticipation of the Baller League. For as much of an expert as I think you think you are, you should have been there. You've got a good excuse, I'm sure.
Since I seem to be on some sort of tangent on you, I've got to say, forthright, that was absolutely the worst run league of all time under your helm last year. (Nothing too personal, thought you were cool at the basketball tournament)

ps deshaun foster as early as i picked him was a time induced semi-accident

Scott, I hope you are kidding about the teams sucking. I don't know what you said you were joking about or if you just said you were joking in general but there are some good teams. We should keep track of points between your yahoo auto draft team that you said would take on any team mentioned in the thread. I'm confident my team would beat your auto draft

I'd be up for it- it would be fun.

Pretty everything I said I was kidding about up until the point one person took things too seriously.

I wouldn't disagree with that- I didn't have the time or effort necessary to run the league right last year, and I'll be the first to own up to that.
