...if one of the teams in the Finals was killed in a plane crash??? Do they have contingency plans for "unthinkable" catastrophes like that???

Is this what happens to the minds of Spurs fans after a few years of futility?

Might wanna find a hobby there, guy.

Probably let the runner-up from the dead team's conference

A virgin sacrifice to Satan would make this come true spurs fan...sell your soul to the devil for your home team..lol

TBH prolly an emergency draft where all 29 teams protect 5 of their players and the unfortunate team would pick from the unprotected roster not more than twice on the same team.

I would think the Finals would be over. There would not be a champion crowned as such. It would be a dark day for the NBA.

I'm sure their contingency plans doesn't involve the Spurs

I've thought about the "unthinkable" many times, but, it's always the Suns.

What would happen if Tampa Dudes whole family died in a plane crash? What would he do? What if his mom was getting raped by Kobe while the plane was falling out of the sky?

He'd come to live with me & Katie-girl, and I'd never hear the end of it?

Those flipping out over the question need to stop being emos.....it's a dark question, but very legit. Something I've never thought of (which I like).

My guess is it'd probably be like a poster typed above. A black year in the record books where there simply isn't a champion. I don't see how the hell the NBA could go on for that summer if something like that happened. First of all finals schedules would be postponed/canceled immediately just out of respect and by the time they even formulated a plan the summer league would be ready to start.

There simply would be no champion...hopefully we'll never have to find out the answer to this question.

Well, seeing as how my entire family is already dead (except for my brother Ed, but he's a worthless bum), I'm not worried about either scenario.

I agree...I think they would not have a champion that year. I know if I were a player on a Finals team, and our opponent was killed in a plane crash, I couldn't accept the title...it wouldn't be right. Many of the players in the NBA are good friends even though they play on different teams. Such an event would be absolutely devastating and would no doubt be the worst day ever in NBA history.
