Uruguay hasn't won an opener since 1970
We won just 1-16 of our previous WC games
We haven't won a match in a WC for the last 20 years (1-0 to South Korea in 1990)

Diaby was our best player in all the friendly games. But Malouda was ok, I would have prefered Diaby instead of Govou or Gourcuff.
You will see France only attack on the left (Ribery, Evra, Malouda or Diaby), on the other side Sagna, Gourcuff and Govou haven't shown anything offensively.

I don't agree with what they did mate and I apologize in behalf of the normal people here... I work with 5 Aussies besides me on here and it's all cool... many of which decided to avoid living there as wogs despite being born and raised in Aussie territory... great integration job :tu

Yeh it does suck that the only ones that make the news are the trouble makers. I know every country has their 'over the top' sports fans who take it too far.
I am guessing your mates where from Sydney or Melbourne? Multi-culturism is a great thing but, like so many countries, Australia has many issues with different nationalities living in their own communities and never really integrating. What makes it worse is some dumb aussies lump everyone together if they look foreign, without realising half of them are born in Australia!

Uruguay defending well and hoping to counter-attack... Arevalo was great in the midfield for Uruguay. Ultimately both teams lack a playmaker, so it's going to be tough to break the tie...

agreed... Forlan had his chances though he failed to deliver... and it's not that France is a shitty team.. is that Uruguay is at the same level as the European elite...
my guess is that we will lose to SA next match and Mexico and France will draw... we'll beat Mexico and SA will do business vs France or draw and SA and Uruguay are going to the next stage :toast

As expected, Govou, Anelka and Gourcuff sucked, but i was disappointed with Ribery.
Diaby is awesome.
Judging by the 2 games, i'd say all the teams have a chance to advance except Mexico.

Ribery struggled the whole season. (has had about 6 or 7 different injuries this season). I don't think he can carry the team.
Anelka is so damn overrated. selfish as ever.

I was honestly surprised by the way we played, much less worst than expected.
If we find a way to beat Mexico, I think this team could advance a little in this WC.
So far 100% on my bets, I predicted a 0/0 and the 1/1, 60 games left to win 5 000,00 euros. :)

Unfortunately, it was the kind of ugly game you somehow had to expect. France's game completely lacked structure and cohesion. Sad to see how a bunch of individually gifted players like that underperforms so badly. Why Domenech doesn't line up two strikers against defensive minded teams like Uruguay is beyond me. I also think that Anelka (who really worked hard) is pretty useless as a lone striker.
