By the way, we’re hearing Johnson’s three-year deal will be for more than $11 million, and just south of 12. And Mark Cuban is paying for virtually all of the first-year salary: He had torn up his coach’s contract (which had three years remaining) and gave Avery a five-year, $19 million deal in October 2006. That deal was for exactly $3.8M across.

Hey, Cuban paid Finley a whole lot more to win a championship with the Spurs, this is chump change in comparison.
