LakersGround is by far the worst sports forum I've ever seen in my life..

These are the same people that claimed that the rims were rigged in favor of Boston during the 2008 Finals..they blame every loss on refs, they blame everybody but Kobe for any loss, they blame Stern(LOL), they claim the media hates the Lakers(LOL)..

21_Blessings posts there..the majority of the posters there are the same as Blessings, which speaks volumes..there aren't many IronMexican or AshyLarry types from what I've seen..

Its one thing to complain about certain calls. It's another to blindly disregard reality and argue that the refs have it in for the Lakers. Seriously, reading that site, you'd think the zebras were the only thing preventing four/four/four/four and multiple 60 pt Kobe games.

I find that the homerism, ignorance and whatnot is pretty much proportionate to the size of each respective fan base. For instance, people talk about how knowledgeable East Coast fans are (New York, Boston, Philly) but really there's just more knowledgeable fans. They've also got more terrible fans.

thats a tough angle cause the ball can change directory when it hits the backboard as well so its not as simple as the ball moved the end

Way too close to call. If it was ruled to hit rim in real time, it should stay that way. If it was ruled to not hit rim, it should have stayed that way. Not enough evidence either way.

I just don't understand why the league won't widen instant replay to that sort of thing. I mean I can understand not wanting to slow the game down to a crawl replaying any and everything, but when the game is that tight and every possession counts I don't see what the big deal is. I think JVG made that point last night because from what I saw it looked like it definately was an airball.

What the hell are you talking about? What backboard on this planet is going to cause the ball to move more upward in it's trajectory as it hits? That ball is descending at roughly a 60 degree angle. After it makes contact, it is moving more or equally outward as it is downward, maybe at a 45 degree angle or so. How would hitting the backboard with no rim contact cause this?

This is very simple. The ball hit the rim.

Blackjack

The ball hit the rim. I wasn't sure it did at first but they had an angle on the replay where it showed the ball clearly level off and change trajectory before hitting the backboard.

Watch where the ball changes trajectory and then watch where it hits the bottom of the backboard. You can't hit the backboard twice without hitting the rim and you can clearly see where the ball changes trajectory and where the ball hits the bottom of the backboard.

I fucking told you guys. the ABC commentators are fucking clueless, except for JVG.

Ball changed trajectory in a way that only the rim could have done, and it was 100% obvious watching the replays last night.

Not the way I saw it. The rotation on the ball never changed. If it hits the rim... the rotation changes. Regardless, one call doesn't cost you a game. Champions don't let themselves be in a postion where one call or play can bury you.

It would be nice if the game could be called in such a way that the refs did not seem to affect the outcome of the game. Every game the losing team has some ligitmate gripes. Do we need less rules? How about ending the star player call? Maybe it is time to the call the game the same for every player and every team on every play. If the officials can not make a certain call consistantly then change the rules regarding that call.

Simple solution which is bring back 90's rules. Bring back the hand checking, get rid of the defensive 3 second violation, stop calling ticky tack crap if there is no blood no foul. If you do those 3 things it will pretty much cut down having controversial games. The only downside is scoring will drop down drastically which could lead to low ratings but for me I would still watch because I enjoy a defensive struggle.

Holy shit you're dumb. And the league gifted Jordan plenty of ticky tack fouls during the 90s. More so than any other NBA superstar, ever. Although Lebron is gaining on him at this rate.
