As sharp as Barber's looked in camp, I seriously doubt it...they might trade Tashard or Hurd or Crayton for a T, but I don't think Barber...course I could be wrong.

Time To Start Shopping For O-Linemen?
As you know, Cowboys lineman Kyle Kosier went down Wednesday with an MCL injury and will be out (say it with me) 4-6 weeks, mere days after Marc Columbo also hurt his knee. Now, the Double J has already said he isn’t worried about the depth of the O-line in the face of these injuries. But the Double J has himself a poker face (no really, he got it that way by having it stretched with a fire poker), so there’s no need to take him at his word on such matters.
We get a lot of unverified tidbits here at Blue Star, and one that came in this morning was that the Cowboys were looking to trade Marion Barber to San Diego for one of their offensive lineman, presumably current holdout Marcus McNeill. Now, I’ve dug around to see if there’s any truth to this rumor and it would appear to be all smoke. This makes sense, given that there’s no reason for the Chargers to trade away McNeill for Barber when they already have Ryan Matthews and Darren Sproles shoring up their backfield.
HOWEVAH, the rumored trade does cause you to wonder: Why SHOULDN’T the Cowboys dangle Barber, or one of their backs, for help along the O-line? I don’t buy Jerry thinking the O-line is perfectly fine as is. No one is in the NFL is ever satisfied with their roster. If there’s a chance to improve, you do it. And let’s face it, the Cowboys are overloaded at back and need that O-line depth. They could easily part with Barber or Tashard Choice (never Felix Jones, because Felix is Jerry’s boy) in return for helping keep Tony Romo upright all season long.
Think about a team like Seattle. Their backs are ghastly. They’d probably give up a backup lineman and a draft pick for someone like Barber. I’m not saying Chester Pitts is the exact right person they should trade for. Ideally, it would be someone as eminently tradable as Chester Pitts, but does NOT suck.
The Cowboys have a chance to balance their roster here, and the preseason is the best time to get it done. So let’s all hope the Double J is lying about standing pat. Because the way these injuries are piling up, the Cowboys may not be able to afford the luxury of keeping three good backs around.

I think that would be a good trade. There is no point to having 3 good backs if you have no line to block for them. Choice and Jones would be good enough to share carries. Although I'm not sold on Jones being able to stay healthy for an entire season. He seems to break down a lot.

This isn't too bad of an idea. Barber, is a great back and the has the highest value for a trade. Jones and Choice will be able to take over completely without a change, IMO. Plus he is probably the highest paid of the three.

I think because he is the highest paid, then it will be more difficult for the Cowboys to trade him. Out of the 3 backs, IMO I see Tashard Choice being the one that gets traded.

What? Crayton was a 45 catch, 700 yd, 3 to 4 TD consistent receiver. He had one drop against the Giants but otherwise was very consistent. The Cowboys don't have depth for that.
They have Miles, who they hope can repeat one great season.
They have Roy who has been horrible here, has never had timing with Romo, and now they are banking on him to step up and contribute big. Big problem.
They have Dez, who is very injury prone so far, he hasn't been able to stay healthy through OTAs or camp and now if he goes down or has rookie issues the Cowboys are fucked.
Hurd is a special teamer who is far worse than Crayton as a receiver. Ogletree is extremely inconsistent and has regressed since last year.
That's all they got. This team is incredibly weak at WR unless Roy pulls a miracle season and Dez manages to stay healthy and not have rookie problems. Jerry is a fucking moron.

The problem with this is that Crayton was already dissatisfied with the team. He wanted to be at least the 2nd receiver on the team. We still believe (or at least the team believes) that R. Williams will gel with Romo sometime during the season. Don't forgot Crayton was pouting all offseason about trading him somewhere. The only reason I'm dissatisfied with this trade is that we only got a 7th round pick. I probably bet we couldn't get much from him anyways

I believe Crayton's highest reception total was 50, and the only time he got over 40. Dallas gets a 6th round pick if he catches over 40 for SD I believe. He simply made too much money and whined too much to keep around. Not counting new rookie salaries, Cowboys have cleared over 16 mill in salaries, which hopefully bodes well for a long time deal for Miles Austin.

They had to keep Miles, Roy and Dez. They would have got nothing in exchange for Hurd and Ogletree and those two are cheaper.
Crayton had 37 catches last year and never caught more than 4 in a game and had a small bit of trade value. Witten also takes a lot of passes away from the 2nd and 3rd wide receivers.
That said, I think Crayton was a productive enough receiver/returner to keep.
The problem was not trading Crayton, imo. The problem for me was drafting Dez Bryant in the first round instead of an o-lineman, thus forcing the trade of Crayton.

Eh their O-line problems are overblown in my book. When they balance their offense and force the defense to defend the run pass protection isn't an issue. When they have to abandon the run like they did against Minnesota and DEs don't have to worry about sealing the edge, their O-line's strength/size becomes less of an advantage and their lack of quickness becomes more of a disadvantage. If possible Dallas should be running the ball greater than 50% of the time.

Definitely dont agree with what the Cowboys did these last few days. Cutting Crayton is a huge mistake imho, and getting rid of both McCann and Gordan doesn't make sense to me.

FUCK..they cut Cletis? Big mistake. Jamar Wall was a major bust, also..I thought Jesse or Manny could have been the 6th, if they kept 6 receivers, but apparently they got cut too. I'm glad Gronkowski made it, though I'm a bit surprised Sicko didn't...things should get interesting from here.

The team was expecting a little more from him...just didn't live up to it..couldn't make it as a Cowboy..good enough to be on the Texans though.

Sure he didn't pan out but a 6th rounder can't be a major bust.
Yeah they picked him up and he will probably never see the field except on special teams. He probably just needs some decent coaching.

It's a low risk-moderate reward for Houston. Did Dallas pick up anyone from the waiver wire or are they going with 3 CBs?
I thought Jesse or Manny could have been the 6th, if they kept 6 receivers, but apparently they got cut too.
Cutting Crayton means that there was no room for Jesse or Manny. I'm a little happy to see that they didn't make a knee jerk move and keep one of those two.
It's a low risk-moderate reward for Houston. Did Dallas pick up anyone from the waiver wire or are they going with 3 CBs?
They're expecting Akinari-Oweihwigh (whatever his name is) to play slot if one of the top 3 go down. Then they'll bring down Ball to play corner and get Hamlin to take his spot or vice versa.
Gordon looked ok against lesser competition but I think he'll be useless going up against other team's starters.

signed Scott Chandler from the Giants for TE depth, but haven't heard anything about any new CBs...Alan Ball and Owusu-Ansah can play CB if we need them to, but we should have kept Cletis Gordon....can't believe we cut him.
