View Full Version : Where does game 7 of 2010 Finals rank in worst officiated games?

Jacob1983

I would put it at least in the top 5. Game 7 tonight was almost as bad as games 6 and 7 of the 2002 WCF and game 5 of the 2006 Finals. So where would you rank it in the history of the NBA? And I'm not just talking about playoff games. Regular season games can be included in your discussion.

Top 4 are games 3-6 in 2006. This is number 5. The Lakers-Kings had some bad reffed games as well.

Game 6 of the 2002 WCF comes pretty close to being the worst. Bibby was called for a foul when the rapist elbowed him in the nose.

Worst ever

Along with the 2002 WCF - it was the real NBA Finals that year

easily in the top 5 ... it looked to be fairly called through the first 3 quarters, then the NBA took over and pushed the Lakers to victory with those twenty-one 4th quarter freebies.

The games in the 2002 Kings-Lakers series were the worst officiated ever. Followed by the 2006 NBA Finals. This 7th game ranks in the top 5. What horrendous fucking officiating aptitude the refs showed tonight. Wow. I'm still jaw dropped.

I would just like to see ONE PIVOTAL GAME in Kobe's bullshit career where the Lakers are not total beneficiarys of bull shit calls. They are always the ones that come out on top of bullshit officiating and it makes me sick.
This league is such a sham.

I just wish the NBA would admit that the league is rigged sometimes. NBA fans already know it's rigged. Why can't Stern just admit that his precious league is rigged? People would still watch. Wrestling is rigged and people still watch it.

More like the 4th quarter. But you can't deny LA was the best team at scoring in the paint last season, which puts a damper on such an argument.

Not rigged. I've seen the 4th quarter several times and there was maybe 1 or 2 questionable calls. By all means though, please post the video evidence of the clear rigging.

It was as honest a 12 minutes of Bryant's life as I've ever witnessed. No game face, just sheer panic as he got close to it. He did what he had to do--instead of what he wanted to do. It was a seminal moment in his life, but, a fleeting one, as he reverted to form in the immediate aftermath of Artest's shot & Vuj's free throws.

The officiating was fine, Lakers earned the W..Fish, Artest and Pau stepped up when Kobe tried to lose..

The Lakers have had some historically poor officiated games go in their favor throughout their history(particularly 2002, where even Laker writers talked about how badly the Kings were robbed), but this isn't one of those games..

Why do you watch it then? It makes you look like an idiot if you are spending your time with something you think is a sham. If the league is a sham and the Lakers are getting bullshit calls then so is everyone else including the Spurs when they won. The Spurs were affectionately known as the San Antonio Sterns when they were winning so the bullshit goes multiple ways.

The Lakers were #1 in points in the paint and last in FT differential in the playoffs last year. If anything it was a sham in favor of whoever the Lakers were playing.

Along with not understanding concepts like "rhetorical questions," and "relevant discussions", you seem to be unaware of how a message board works.

This board is public and extremely liberal in policy as long as you don't go overboard breaking the rules. You'd know a bit about that (lol pinked).

When you post a good take, people generally respond to in kind.

When you're an idiot in thread after thread, you reap what you sow. And those seeds you've planted won't be what you expect. They're weeds in the garden, easily pulled. Your fake gems are easily cut by diamonds.

LOL

Rivers was just being nice so the refs wont be against him during the 2011 playoffs

There is no way a good defensive team like Boston could allow 21 FTs in one quarter
On top of that, the Lakers "won" a game by shooting 31% :lmao

Using free throw attempts as an argument is weak if you can't follow it up with in-depth analysis..I've seen analysis of every call in the 4th quarter, and they were good for the most part, outside of maybe 2-3 calls, which is pretty common for an NBA game..

As for the Lakers play in the paint, some of the arguments thrown out are actually misconceptions..the Lakers were 6th among playoff teams in points in the paint and 6th in FGA in the paint..they were the best team in the paint when you consider efficiency and defense, but they actually don't play as much in the paint as people think..this is obviously affected by Bynum's limited ability though, since they're usually higher during the regular season..
