And this is why I'm glad the Lakers won it. The Spurs and Lakers dominated the NBA over this period.

In fact, without the Lakers falling apart in 2004 and 2008 and without Ginobili's idiotic foul on Dirk in Game 7, these 2 teams would have won 12 in a row.

These 2 teams have represented the Western Conference in 11 of those 12 years.

I was a Lakers fan tonight - I will go back to hating them tomorrow. For now, congrats Lakers fans. :toast

Fixed it for you.

True but it blows that the Spurs appear done contending and the Lakers still have the pieces to win more. Nobody expects the Spurs to win another..

Which Blows..

The Spurs are irrelevant to the media and the casual NBA fan, so this is only meaningful to Spurs fans and die-hard NBA fans..

except die hard spurs fans everyone else and the media thinks that the spurs and timmy are done and should start rebuilding.....i hope the spurs will turn it around and let their game do all the talking and prove these people wrong

Yeah, I think Tony had it right from his interview in that this next season is the last chance for Duncan's fifth.. realistically speaking anyways

For me it wasn't so much rooting for the Lakers as much as it was rooting against the PoS thug Garnett.

I'm a hardass because I stare at and punch the goal padding for 5 minutes before the game and do random pushups on the court whenever I feel like it!
