3 weeks ago I bought myself a Mitsubishi 65" DLP. I loved it. It had beautiful colors, exquisite clarity, and very light weight for its size. It was perfect. Well just yesterday I had the misfortune of having it fall off its stand and fall 2 feet screen down on the carpet. Needless to say the screen inside shattered. My heart broke. My question is can it be replaced and for how much? I hope everything else inside is in working order and not destroyed also.
Typically not worth it, usually cheaper or at least a better value to replace it with a plasma/LCD.

There is a van that parks in a drive way on Blanco just north of 410. On the side it says " I repair big screen TVs" and has a telephone number on it. I have seen that van for as long as I have been driving around there (around 1995), so the guy has experience. You could check it out.

Sounds like the mirror that runs along the entire inside of the tele shattered?

If it is the mirrors on the inside of the cabinet, then I'd imagine you could replace them yourself for somewhere around $100. Any glass shop can cut the mirrors to spec.

but it can't be just any mirror, if he did that it would have really bad ghosting.

For the price it would cost for him to replace it with an OEM, I'd give it a shot.
I'd guess it'd run anywhere between $500-1000 with labor.

If it reaches the 1000 mark just buy a new one,
$1,099.00
