This is since 1969 when the finals MVP award started.

Amazing how short this list is:

Kobe
Jordan
Kareem
Magic

I'd never ignore a one and done champion who can't back up his trash talk about the back to back champions. It's too much fun to ridicule him.

the best way to measure all-time greats is the Final's MVP award. Shaq, Duncan are still in front of Bryant on the all-time list because of their advantage in that area. anybody can be a passenger.

Hall of Fame players are not passengers unless you are talking about someone well past their prime.

Bill Russell was anywhere from the 2nd to the 7th option on offense for his team. Usually he was the 3rd or 4th option.

In 1980 Magic Johnson was the 4th option on offense for the Lakers yet his play was instrumental to winning. In 1982 he was the third option. In 1985 he was the second option. In 1987 he was first option. In 1988 the third option. When Magic first arrived to the Lakers Kareem was the man on offense. Doesn't matter.

I don't think Sandy is quite on the level of "kicking ass".

Bill Russell = 11 rings

I still thinks that's the standard.

Kobe wasn't the best player on his team during the 3 peat. MJ was the best player for all 6 rings

Gasol should have been at least a co-mvp w/ Kobe. Without Gasol reeling in all those bricks from Kobe, no way they would have won.

Big bird should have been finals MVP. I guess finals MVP has become a popularity contest like the regular season MVP.
