It is a tradition! Either we pick someone who is not expected to go in the first round or even drafted for that matter OR someone like D. Blair free falls right into our lap in the second round.

What are your BOLD surprise predictions (this doesn't have to be what you believe will happen or want to happen) for our first and second pick and WHY (why it is a surprise and why the spurs could do it).

For Example:

Spurs at 20 once again don't pick anyone we have talked about......there may be even a Hayward, James or Whiteside on the Board....everyone on the Draft Night Blog get excited and the Spurs draft......

Darrington Hobson....Why it is a surprise: Darrington is projected in the second round and is not a long three (which is a consensus need) but is a unique point forward type who can guard the 1 thru 3 position and for his size (measured 6ft 6 1/2 inches) is an exceptional rebounder. Great PPR for forward and a solid PER. He reminds me a little of josh howard. Draft express link http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Darington-Hobson-5833/

Second round surprise: Spurs select Ben Uzoh....What! who is that guy, he is not listed on anyones draft board ... they could have him as a free agent pick up.... why spurs could pick him, a local San Antonio native plays point, has good size, huge wingspan, good defender with an all around game that includes not turning the ball over much. Great PER and PPR and has visited the Spurs twice.

Spurs trade 1 round pick for cash considerations. Spurs trade 2nd round pick to Suns for 2nd round pick in 2030.

I predict the Spurs trade out of the 1st round, save for another Blair scenario.

Spurs keep the 20th and draft Terrico White, leaving Spurs fans to be saying "What the fuck?"

Spurs brass watches as Chris Bosh and Joe Johnson verbally commit to play with LA for cheap next year, with their reason being "we just respect Kobe that much and want to help him and LA." Spurs brass says fuck this and walks out of the draft.

That's how I see it playing out.

Oh, Gee!!

spurs draft a foreign player stuck in a contract with Ceramica TAU, and trade him for nothing in 3 years.

Following last year's vowel heavy selection of Dejuan Blair, I expect the Spurs to use the 20th pick to add some much needed consonants to their second unit.

They will draft some random dude out of some no name college that no one has ever heard of. Everyone will be pissed, threads will be started saying "who the fuck is so-and-so?," Fabbs will create 20 threads on how Popovich sucks, and then he will turn out to be a good player and everyone will be eating crow and kicking themselves in the teeth.

Oh wait, that happened already.:lol

Spurs will have draft day trade that would send Richard Jefferson disguised as a water boy to the Lakers for Kobe Bryant.

Spurs' GM RC Buford spreads a false rumor around the league that Paul George had microfracture surgery on both is knees when he was a freshman in high school. That scares away so many teams, that he falls to us at #20.

Spurs trade pick 20, Tony Parker, RJ and a 1st in 2011 for Brandon Rush, Danny Granger and drafts Cole Aldrich.

Second round pick is Ryan Richard

Of all the potential lottery players Aldrich is the only one you have heard no news about where he is going.

Barring trades to move up, I'll predict:

First round: Dominique Jones
Second round: Hamady N'Diaye or Jerome James

:lol Good catch... I meant Jerome Jordan. I'm not sure if that qualifies as Freudian slip or future prediction...
