Mike Miller is looking to sign with a contender after a disappointing season with the Wizards.
Miller, a 10-year NBA veteran, will become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.
"I'm looking for a winner," said Miller. "The last couple of years have taken a toll on me, as far as not being in the playoffs and not playing this time of year. So I'm looking to change that. This time, if it doesn't work out, there's no one to blame but myself."

Spurs could use him as a shooter. Not sure we can afford him on the open market, but the Spurs have been big fans in the past and maybe his desire to win will mean taking less $$$.

If he was to take a lower amount of money then you sign him straight away.

Miller for the minimum or LLE would be incredible. He's gonna want more than that, though.

If the Spurs got Miller, I guarantee you Bonner would not be resigned. So all the Bonner haters should be praying for this.

BTW, he has a good relationship with Pop and has expressed a desire to be traded to the Spurs in the past.

miller has declined pretty dramatically. the only thing he is good for now is shooting threes. spurs can't pay him much so he'll get paid somewhere else.

I would like to get Miller for the minumum. If we can't, then there's no way to get him, unless it is a sign and trade.

It would be great, but there is no logical way to obtain him unless Splitter says no. Even then, the plans would probably change so much, that signing Miller won't make sense.

Miller would be a perfect shooter for our team, and he is also a very unselfish passer and decent rebounder. Love to see it although I have a feeling he'll want more money than we've got. Sign-n-trade maybe?

You might want to check http://www.shamsports.com/content/pages/data/salaries/spurs.jsp before saying too much about sign-and-trades. The only players the Spurs can trade period at this point are Duncan, Jefferson, McDyess, Parker, Ginobili, Hill, and Blair. Bonner, Mason, and Bogans are free agents and cannot be traded (unless we sign-and-trade them; I can't see Washington wanting any of them for what we would pay Miller).

I bet RMJ would love to go back to the Wiz. Sign him and Bogans and trade 'em both. Shit, throw in Bonner too.

No thanks, too soft and one dimensional. We need guys that can defend and are difference makers.

Yeah, and as the Phoenix series showed us, we have an abundance of outside shooters.

:rolleyes

miller for vet min or LLE.....suns series tells us enough that we need a guy who can the 3's and not choke like mason and bonner.....

I like Miller, but if the Spurs are interested, they should simply try to target Luke Babbitt, instead.

Miller is a vital piece for our team, he's just like Barry, though he's longer and a better rebounder. But he won't sign for a minimum, so this is just a pipe dream.

We badly need 3 pt shooters, so yes if we can get him for cheap

Miller won't have any trouble getting a much better contract than what the Spurs could offer. Next.

wtf ?

1st I don't think he is soft, he is not a warrior ready to let his head in the batle but he is no soft.

one dimensional ? he is a good shooter mid-range and 3 pt, he can dunk, he is a good passer, he can rebound the ball pretty well and he is globally a clever guy on the court, he isn't a defensive beast but he is doing the job properly.

For the LLE he would be a fucking good asset for the spurs

Plus, he is very aggressive, he is a pro, and understands his role very well

I realize that people like to act like they have any fucking idea what his salary demands are but in essence what he is saying here is that he is willing to take less to play for a contender. IOW, you really have no clue.

1. Spurs don't have MLE money to offer Miller and talking about him signing for BAE or min is pathetic. (and for those who again start the: but but he wants to go to a contender, maybe he comes here for no money.... we just lost in the 2nd round. 0-4)
2. reportedly he is interested in going back to Orlando and they will be smart to sign him (for the MLE)
3. S&T almost never materialize and if they do, it about some star players. they never work around useless crap, Mason and Bonner won't be an exception. and never never never a team with cap space burns this to space to absord re signed dead meat from another team. that's even more pathetic than to think he might sign a min. contract. with the Spurs.

Miller is one of those bubble guys in this year's free agent crop. He won't command the full MLE this season due mainly to his age and the fact there are so many other quality FA's.There are about 3 times as many available players as there are teams with cap space and MLE slots. After all the big name FA's and 2nd tier FA's make their commitments, there just won't be many options left for players like Miller. If he's looking for big money, his best shot is to re-sign with his current team. Otherwise, he'll have no choice but to sign for the LLE, vet min, or try like hell for a S&T.

With the $$$ the Spurs will have to likely shell out for Splitter, there will not be nearly enough to entice a player like Miller. I doubt he will be willing to settle for the LLE, which means the Spurs will be shopping in the "bargain basement bin" for players they can get at an extreme discount. Miller isn't one of those.

Perfect fit, but not enough money to sign him. Kind of like LeBron.
