Days after winning his 11th NBA championship, Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson said Wednesday his retirement is a distinct possibility.

"I'm leaning towards retiring but I have not made up my mind," Jackson said.

Jackson, who has won five titles with the Lakers and six titles with the Chicago Bulls, has flirted with retirement in recent years. He has been open throughout the season about the toll the NBA schedule takes on him physically.

Jackson was a no-show at the parade on Monday celebrating the Lakers win over the Boston Celtics in seven games. A Lakers spokesperson said Jackson was undergoing medical tests.

The initial prognosis on the medical exams must be of a prohibitive nature. I checked him myself, and he's only got the one cock in his rump-a-rooney from '08. Oops, I missed that one from '04. Sorry, Jammie.

He's coming back.
Let the begging begin...

Jackson has nothing left to prove, but I gotta think returning to go for a fourth three-peat has to be pretty tantalizing.

Preemptive negotiating ploy to make sure Buss backs off the "take a paycut" bullshit.

This is a quick fix. Jerry Buss needs to man up and pay him his 12 million. That is all it comes down to. Pay the man his money, and he will return.

I can see him paving the way for a dramatic "surprise decision" to come back right before the season starts.
