On his live chat on ESPN Bill Simmons just predicted the Spurs will take Daniel Orton of Kentucky. Obviously this is just one of a billion random predictions. That said, I would not be happy if they were take such a project. Can't say it would excite me if it came to pass.

Simmons is an idiot. Whiteside, Seraphin, Alabi, Elli0t Williams, and Brackins were still available.

He also said that he had a very reliable source tell him that Shaq's #1 offseason choice is Dallas.

alabi would definitely be the better option if he is still on the board

Even Shortbus Ford called him on it. He joked that 3 pts and 3 rpg gets you in the the top 20.

Simmons knows plenty about basketball. No one even on this board has any idea who the Spurs will draft. I'm not going to hold it against him for throwing out a random guess.

Wouldn't be a bad pick. Orton is a project big that could blossom after a year or two in Austin.

I'd bet you $100 the Spurs wouldn't take Orton over the guys still available in their mock draft this afternoon. Simmons knows basketball but he realizes it and thinks he's a genius. I could barely stay with their draft because he kept floating these RIDICULOUS trade ideas. I'd love to see him as a GM. He'd be worse than Kahn.

Wojnarowski is reporting that Orton stock is really falling and that he could even end up in the second round:

Kentucky center Daniel Orton has rapidly turned into a freefalling draft prospect – perhaps all the way out of the first round.

Orton’s combination of knee issues, poor conditioning and personal turmoil surrounding his predraft process has raised multiple warning signs for NBA teams. A 6-foot-10 freshman, Orton had been considered a prospect for the middle of the first round, but several league executives suggested on Wednesday morning that he could drop into the second.

Orton would be a waist of #20.

bob Hill is his agent, is that our ex coach bob hill? WTH, is up with that. Wojnarowski call it a mistake by Orton, he may be right.

Bob Hill is NOT his agent. He's working him out and preparing him for the draft. Your agent generally doesn't get involved in on the court stuff.
