VICTORVILLE, Calif. -- Brawling parents interrupted a Southern California kindergarten graduation ceremony.

School officials placed Puesta del Sol Elementary in desert Victorville on lockdown Wednesday morning after a fight broke out among a group of parents.

San Bernardino County sheriff's spokeswoman Karen Hunt said witnesses told deputies several mothers were involved in a verbal argument and it got physical in a field near the ceremony. Several men then jumped into the fray and the incident turned into a brawl.

Hunt said arriving deputies didn't see any physical contact.

There were no arrests and no one reported injuries.

No children were hurt.

The kids couldn't care less. It's the parents who have to feel like their little one is special :lol

Actually I think it's just to mark a milestone in their lives. People have always noted milestones in their kid's development, ie first tooth, first birthday. It's no big deal and everyone knows graduating from kindergarten is not an unusual accomplishment; if you don't want to preserve the memory for your family, you don't have to participate. Simple.

The kids don't care, it's to make the parents feel good about themselves. Well, mainly the moms, most of the dads probably think it's silly.

I had a kindergarden graduation back in 1984. I just remember having to learn this song and we couldn't get it down. We would either sing too low, or if we increased our volume we would sing too fast. That is all I remember. My next graduation was HS.

Apparently they now have one in Kinder, 5th grade (or 6th depending on if your school district has junior high, or middle school), 8th grade, and 12th grade.

I have heard that some places even have one for 9th grade.

crazy.
