He's an interesting option of course. Don't know what his price would be but its certainly not the LLE so highly doubt we can pick him up, he's a decent talent and can hit the 3 so he would likely fit here.

It would definitely be interesting if the Spurs were to land him somehow.

I think Gomes is the type of player that would excel in the Spurs system, but I think it's a long shot and things this good don't happen for SA when it comes to Free Agents.

Gomes is solid. IF Spurs don't pick him up another good team will. I do hope Spurs FO will give this a shot at the least, he would be a perfect fit on this team imo.

I wanted them to go after him before he signed with Minny. I think he could perform well with the Spurs.

Been a fan of his for a few years at least, I'd definitely rather have him than say Rasual Butler or Dorrell Wright. Gomes would make a great Spur for sure if not for his hustle alone. Like Mike Miller he might be out of our price range though, idk. Either way, maybe for our sake he's tired of being a part of losing organizations. In his 5 years in the league, his teams have never won more than 33 games in a season, averaging 23.6 wins with the Celtics/Timberwolves. If not our team, would be cool to see him on a playoff team (other than the Mavericks, Lakers, or Suns).

I think the Spurs will definitely show some interest, but it depends on what he thinks his value is and if he thinks the Spurs are contenders. Or, he could go for a cash grab . . . but, since this year's FA market is packed, the Spurs might be able to pull off a minor miracle for the LLE. Someone should be willing to sign a 1 year deal for the LLE. The question is . . . who?

He would be a great option as a small ball 4.

I heard he was scheduled to make around 4mil this season. Surely, if the Spurs forego resigning Bonner, I would think Gomes would be a good fit. While he's not as proficient a 3-pt shooter as Bonner, he can play multiple positions, better rebounder and a much more rugged player.

Yeah, that's really what he is. He's not really quick enough to play the 3 full time, but then we really only need him to spell RJ and play in some small ball sets.

It shows 3 years left on his contract at 4mil+ per year were those not gauranteed? I think whoever picks him up has to flip the bill and if we are getting Splitter can't afford him.

Not fully guaranteed. They can save money (multiple millions) by releasing him by 1 July.

Yep, Gomes is a much better option than Bonner.

Only thing Bonner has is familiarity with the system and a better 3pt stroke, but even that disappears in the playoffs.

Yeah handy player. Would take a bit of work to get him, but I hope we look into him.

This would be a great pickup. He's a good rebounder (especially at the offensive end), would be a perfect small ball four, can defend some 3s (depending on the opponent).

He busts his ass whenever he's on the court, and he fits the Spurs classiness to a T.

Having surfed across a bunch of forums this seems like a guy all team's fans wants. Hopefully the Spurs can grab him.

I have a feeling that there is going to be a player or two that misses all the money and take the option from a team like San Antonio to sign a one year deal for the LLE just to show off what he can do, and hope that next year gets him the contract he wants.

Could Gomes be that guy?
We shall see.

Maybe, but with the renegotiation of the CBA and ensuing possibility of a lockout season next year, I don't think this makes as much sense as it would in other years..
