Just wanted to gauge the general interest from around the league.

He just recently turned 30 and averaged near 17 ppg, 5-6 rpg, and upped his production to 20 ppg in the playoffs. Next year is his contract year and he's made a promise to lose 15 lbs. What would you give up for him? What's his trade value?

EDIT: And yeah, he's also a $10 million expiring.

An expiring contract is a double edge sword. Getting $10 million off the books is appealing, but then again not as much next summer where it's not a crazy free agent market like this summer. Plus, if you look at the player, even if you think he's still a good player, you don't give up too much for a one year rental with no guarantee either way whether he'll re-sign or simply walk after the season.

I don't think you can expect he's that big of a trade chip. You're probably talking about getting a player of comparable talent in return as the best return.

He's a waste of space wherever he's landed, and he's been given ample opportunity. He's a ham & egger, a retread, a holdover, yesterday's news, strictly heel & toe materiel.

Savvy?
