The MLE is more than that. It makes no difference whatsoever. Being under the cap 5 million is useless.

I know but can Spurs sign a Sf for 5 million and still sign splitter?

No. You can only cap space or MLE. The Spurs will still go after Splitter first, and then look for a stop-gap at the SF spot. Or re-sign RJ for 3 years or something, then sign Splitter with the MLE. Damn it. This sucks.

Matt Carroll: 3 years $11.7 million
Jason Kidd: 2 years $17 million
Jason Terry: 2 years $22 million
Shawn Marion: 4 years $33 million

Mavs fans dying to be in the pickle we're in: priceless.

Eight. million. dollars.

How frightening that such numbers are put forth as if describing a rollback at Walmart.

Sign away, but if he EVER wants to be serious about a title he's gonna have to take the same route as Garnett and Allen.

They're not under the cap. They're under the luxury tax threshold.
