I'm still stunned, I never thought early sales would push it up that far up the list. Thanks to those who have bought it so far and who have posted in here...and a big thanks to Kori for starting the thread

Well lets see how the sales on this one goes first. I've finished about 10 pages or so on the sequel. With this good news today and possible book signing in a few months, this has really given me that push to finish the book. On some nights' I have cranked out 80 pages, so...you never know. But right now it looks really good!

Johnnie Clay was born in 1967 at the time when America was preparing to reach for the Moon. As a student, sci-fi books, movies and history books always fascinated Johnnie. It was the fascination of those subjects that gave him the idea for a book. This book incorporates some history, some science fiction and a little humor, with a slight “twist” along the way. “JC Ray” is given the ability to stop and move back and forth through time. While learning about his newfound ability, he becomes more aware about the responsibility and the effects such power has on one person.

Hey, I already saw the Butterfly Effect! :lol

Unfortunately, I haven't been to the movies since 2000, so I have no idea what the "butterfly effect" is about.

The Butterfly Effect starred Ashton Kutcher, and to be honest I havent seen it, but the storyline is pretty damn close to what you wrote there.

herbivorefemale

it's a little bit like that, but not the same.

buy pooh's book, it's really good.

Big Kudos to Pooh!! http://worldzone.net/internet/barb_bill/gifs5/clappinghands.gif

Muncho respecto for having the will to get it done.

Being a very amature writer myself, I sincerly salute you.

The Butterfly Effect should not be the standard by which we judge time-travel stories. Nothing to worry about Pooh. It sounds like the protagonist in your book makes attempts to alter real history, as opposed to The Butterfly Effect's Ashton Kutcher going back to alter a few ridiculous childhood events, and screwing up each time.

Only three more days until it's "official" release date. From what I know right now, Barnes and Noble isn't carrying the book in its' stores. It's on a "print on demand" basis, meaning if you want it, they can order it for you.

As for Waldenbooks, right now it hasn't appeared yet on their database. Should it appear, there will be a book signing in a few months. Mainly the ones who have purchased the book are from the northeastern part of the U.S.

How much do you get for writing a book?

Pooh
08-18-2004, 01:15 AM
All depends on how much I sell. I know that I will get 8% if I sell 2,000 copies. I'll probably get something in the mail in a few weeks, considering it's almost been available (online) now a month.

I'll need to start hitting the stores all around starting next week to drum up some support for it.

Great Job Pooh. I have a friend with a cool book concept if you get writers block on the sequel.

Way to go!

MannyIsGod
08-18-2004, 04:48 AM
you better get that book into stores if you want to sell any.

Pooh
08-18-2004, 05:31 AM
I haven't had the "writers' block" yet. Actually I have already started the sequel to it, and it will be considerably longer than this one. There hasn't been a problem with coming up with a story line, it's the "filling in the blanks" that is. But once you get typing it just flows.

What I have been doing right now is writing it down on paper, then when I have enough down, then I'll transfer it to the computer. If I do it right, I should have it all done by around October or so.

We should have a GTG to celebrate the official release this wekeend.

Do spurstalk members get a free copy of pooh's book?

Does it have a bookjacket?

Is his picture on it?

If so, does he have a mullet in the picture?

Kori Ellis

His picture is on it. I don't think he has a mullet in the pic - maybe a ponytail.

One time at that OTHER site, I went back to an (6-month) Old Thread for a GTG Lunch and as a joke posted:
