Neither team is good defensively, but I see Spain grinding out a win because they dominate ball possession the most out of all the teams left. 1-1, klose, Villa, then going to penalties where Casillas comes through again in the clutch. Torres shouldn't even be playing anymore. He has no explosion and is a liability on the defensive end. I hope they go with LLorente or Fabregas.

I meant to say they dominate ball possession. They're not that good defensively, but they don't give many opportunities because they dominate that stat. I don't mind going into penalties because it is entertaining(Uruguay vs Ghana was one of the most entertaining games I've ever seen). Also, not counting Uruguay, Spain, Holland, and Germany are about at the same level. I don't see either of the three teams having a clear advantage over the other at this stage. I think it's going to come down to who chokes the least out of the three.

I think not a lot of ppl over here expected this... for us being in the 1/2 final is a great success. After the injuries before the WC (Ballack, Rolfes, Westermann, Adler (our actual No 1 goalie) it looked nearly impossible to go that far but Schweinsteiger and Khedira have done a great job and Klose (scoring only 3 goals during the season with Munich) getting back to shape really helped. Not to foget Müller... I think Spain has a slight edge but in these games everythin is possible.

P.S. I really count on Paul the octopus...:)

Do you really want to have new countries ---or for that matter any team in a sport--- to win it?
Isnt it more special if its a small but fine club of winners?
Say the Magic would have won the NBA title in 2009 and New Jersey would have beaten us...it would make us feel like: Hey at one time every team gets one...just wait and see! I'm going for Spain since I'm part Spanish. Of course if Germany wins, I could care less. Spain is not my team, nor will it ever be. Mexico is my team, and once they're out I root for other teams to lose for the most part. Whoever invests so much into another team other than their own for whatever reason is a bandwagoner imo.

They won the battle in the midfield and that was the key to the game and also our biggest fear before the game. Torres on the bench was huge, damn that they found it out until the german game. And we looked kind of nervous from the start of the game. Well, 2nd youngest team of the cup, you have to live with it.

TBH, not to take anything away from Spain, but teams that pushed their defense made it tremble at times. Germany was wayyyyy too passive today. I mean, Paraguay probably had more chances against Spain than the Germans.

Spain doesn't look invincible on the defensive end, but Germany weren't able to put pressure on them. Puyol is a beast - if he were a basketball player, this guy would be Spurs material.

Spain's defense is like a fucking block of swiss cheese man, it looks great while they have the ball and the other team isn't pressing, but there are so many easily exploitable holes. The one small stretch in the second half where germany really pressed the ball they got 3 or 4 good chances in the span of around 5 minutes. Trust me on this, spain right now is like a poor man's version of a 90's/early 00's brasil team, except with a good keeper lol

They are so stable and so strong that you could not even foul them to set an example. If Kroos makes that goal the game might go differently but in the end the better team won.

I am still proud of the team. They have been together in that lineup for like 6-8 weeks. All the injuries forced the coach to change the lineup a number of times. Most of the players will be able to play at least 2 more WC. I am looking forward to that.
